I'm thinking of getting one of these but having trouble pulling the trigger.
Mostly I don't know how much I'm going to like standing up and working. You guys that already have one, how do you like it, and how was the adjustment?
Your legs don't get tired? Tks

They're a great novelty at first, but it soon wears off! After one year I went back to sitting.

There were quite a few at the university but I don't see too many any longer. I think it was a fad.

I used to work with a guy that used one because of back issues. He still had a normal desk, but spent most of the day standing at the raised monitor he had.

I used to work with AT&T 10 years ago and had one - i LOVED it and I could raise it or lower it as I see fit

I probably stood half the time and loved the option to be able to do that.

Thinking of buying one myself for personal use now, but only if it raises up and down

    I say go for it!

I think having one that can do both would be the best option.
If I had the cash I would try it myself as I have a bad back and neck.

I was planning of having one since last year but ended up skeptical if I really need to buy one or not. My friend has suffered mild back pains after a week of using a stand up desk.

Never own one but seen it in an office I visited.I think it's great as an alternative table to use when you don't want to sit too much.

I have a cheaper one that cost me around $60, if you aren't used to standing all day I would build up slowly maybe start off standing for an extra hour a day and add to that or alternate an hour sitting and an hour standing. If you aren't used to standing all day your legs can feel pretty heavy at the end of the day. I've been told compression socks can alleviate this.

I pulled the trigger and got one that can be raised or lowered. Reason is that I've been having a lot of lower back pain the last 3 months, and I only have pain when I'm sitting, not when I'm standing. Then again I never stood in one place for an hour straight. I plan on easing into it - prob 30/70 stand to sit and then eventually 50/50.
Part of me wonders if its going to be worth the $470 I'm spending on it. Only time will tell. I will say my doctor, who specializes in the spine said he avoids sitting as much as he can.

    Check this out...

Experts: sitting all day worse than smoking - SmartPlanet

There's no doubt our bodies aren't designed to be hunched over a computer all day... heck, they may not've been designed to stand in one spot all day either! But I think you're definitely better off having the option to stand. Even if you mix it up and do one hour sanding and one hour sitting.

I actually just transitioned recently and converted my setup to a stand/sit desk. And it works great! Stand when I want, and sit when I'm tired =)

Why would you get a stand-up desk, if you are worried about soar feet? I had one of those and it just brings a lot of pain, not only for the legs, but also for the back
