A mailing list of to-be brides...

Hi there,

I'm creating a new website in the wedding planning niche, and I wanted to build a list to monetize my site as well as using adsense. I've found a PLR ebook I can use to offer as my "freebie" and even found PLR articles I can use in my autoresponder series... but what I'm wondering is, what other offers can I use to promote to my list? CPA? There's only so many "wedding planning" informational products I can promote... but my list will be highly targeted, being mainly young single females... surely there are other products I can promote to them that they would find useful?

What do you guys think...

    Hey

I would use cpa or cpl to build you list. I would also use ppc and other traffic sources to build the list. I would also promote things , that young couples need. You can promote amazon products and other stuff like that.

Join travel based affiliate programs and promote these - as well as arranging the wedding there is the honeymoon to think about!

One thing that is difficult in the Niche is determining when to drop them off your list or transition to a "couples" or "Newlywed" list. Some brides may have a wedding date in the next 3 months, others may be planning a wedding that is a year away. Once they are married they won't be interested in planning stuff any more, they are more interested in establishing a household and/or family.

Do divorce lawyers have an affiliate program?

    Sorry couldn't resist...

No seriously i would perhaps promote beauty products, weightloss products etc. All brides want to look their absolute best on their wedding day.

I think that AdSense (on the one hand) and affiliate marketing, including of course list-building (on the other) are directly conflicting business models which require fundamentally different types of websites because of the opposing objectives the two models have for the traffic.

With AdSense, you get paid when people leave your site (by clicking on an ad.)

With affiliate marketing, you get paid (usually much more, and usually much more slowly) when you build relationships with people, whom you therefore want to stay on your site for as long as possible.

Two very different objectives for the traffic, there, and therefore two fundamentally different design aims, for the websites.

I don't suggest that it's impossible to make a little money from each, on the same website, but I very strongly suspect that the significant word there will be "little".
