How do I market my friend's product

Hi All,

My friend is working for a start-up called MetisMe that has developed a software which makes managing Gmail attachments better. Since it's a start up I decided to help my friend with popularizing it so that it can help my friend in the job. Can anybody kindly give me some tips so that their daily sign-ups can increase?

    Talk to your friend about who he thinks his target audience would be. You might assume that every Gmail user is the target audience, but that might not be the situation as there could be other factors involved. Once you have a clear idea of who the buyer for this product would be, then find out where those people are online or offline and target them directly.

    start contacting tech blogs and see if anyone would be willing to feature it.

    If the product is good enough and works you should be able to get featured on sites such as lifehacker, engadget etc

    Setting up a website for this product is also a good start.

    Then you may try video promotion and marketing. Create good videos and upload them to video directories like youtube and vimeo. You should then add the url of your site in the videos' description.

    You may try creating a facebook fan page as well for this product.

    search for gmail, and contact people who talk about attachments / gmail in general.

    Yes they do have a website (MetisMe Attachments App) and a Facebook (metismeapp) and Twitter (@metismeapp) page. But since it's a startup there aren't many followers. The product is truly nice but the marketing needs a push.

    But I'm glad you guys replied. Didn't expect help to this extent thanks
