i think theres plenty out there. this niche is pretty popular, especially among young women, who are scared to actually go to the doctor, and would like to do some home remedy or do it yourself treatments.

I'm not into PPC, i'm a build it rank it guy.

I tested this niche a couple of months ago and had no real luck.

I tried the Sarah Summers Clickbank Product, wrote a simple review on Blogger and then wrote 20 articles. Not a sausage!

I have a feeling it's because i didn't put much effort into it and knocked everything up in a day!

You might want to speak to Yescapow here @ WF (i think his real name is Casey). He tackled this niche in February and March and from what i can tell has made a few thousand bucks since promoting it!

      Cheers
      Partha

p.s. The "other name" for yeast infection is still my most popular article in this niche. I have done no backlinking to this artice and it still gets views everyday! I guess my sales copy must just suck!

Well my site is pretty good.

It's it's pages are between PR 1-PR3, i'm number one for one popular term and it's heavily backlinked. It receives 200-230 visitors a day.

Like i said, the creams and stuff for it do well on amazon but that's pennies per sale. I'm trying the most popular yeats infection advert on clickbank but i've had no luck.

    Thanks for the hlep guys.

I am purely speculating, but from a buyers perspective I am going to want a product I can use for a medical condition, and not a home remididy. And since some people are going to be naturally shy about going into the drug store and purchasing cream for this illness, it's no wonder why your amazon store is doing well.

I totally agree and in a practical sense the site is doing really well because it's making sales but i wonder how these other sites are making a lot of money from yeast infection Ebooks.

I'm no expert in this niche, but I know that there is also a lot of free information about home remedies for yeast infections.

Also, most remedies for this, whether natural or medicine, take at least three days to work. If it doesn't work, then they may not land on your site the second time around.

I jumped into this niche last month. I made about $350 - $360 in sales and then it stopped converting period. It's as if someone shot my website with a gun and it's dead. lol I am still trying to figure out why that happened though. I am going to try classic article marketing and see if I can get it going again.

When I first started in this niche I had no luck despite good traffic.

Since then I have added a little content but ultimately left it and have made a few sales. Haven't looked into it anymore as too focused in other areas and have no need to.

Maybe add a few articles combined with talking about ROMANCE, and what NOT to do, you would convert better? Just a thought...

Are you giving away a free report perhaps that will help increase sales and build a list?

No doubt you are writing articles to bring in the visitors?

Not sure what the competition is with this niche, ( I wasn't but I do now - 2,050,000 for "yeast infection" )

    133,000 for intitle:"yeast infection"

    80,300 for inurl:"yeast infection

So there's still a lot of competition for the phrase.

All the best on your endeavours.

    Interesting thread.

I am always worried when I see internet marketers becoming REAL snake oil salesmen!

Fortunately, in Spain, daughters can take their mother's with them to a doctor's appointment and the mothers are able to ensure that the doctor gives a very thorough explanation of the appalling dangers of self treatment for chlamydia and yeast infections, not the least of which are errosion of the cervix and sterility.

There are many bacteria which indicate as yeast infections - in the early stages - but which can lead to long term problems.

Like many health problems, I have very serious doubts about entering a market where so much damage can be done to customers by encouraging self diagnosis and side lining the medical professionals.

It is unfortunate that many men do have yeast infections and can carry the chlamydia bacteria without showing symptoms - this is simply one of the benefits of having external genitalia which do not offer the ideal warmth and moisture conditions for the bacteria and yeast spores to thrive.

But the medical model is based on treating symptoms not underlying issues. They usually give you something to clear it up and that's it.

Many people suffer from candida issues as a result of poor diet and many have overcome their yeast infections for good by switching to a low fat diet. You see many articles online claiming its sugar that causes yeast infections, but in fact its fat. I don't agree with a lot of the advertising and chlamydia is a whole new ball park but I do think that people need to take more care of themselves and start getting more intune with their body.

Of course though anyone looking for the "quick fix" and who are desperate may just take what they are given, but I am sure those who get frequent yeast infections and can't see to overcome them completely would benefit greatly from a diet change - I know many people who have.

I sold a ton of the Sarah Summer product about a year ago and then like the flip of a switch the sales just died off. Also competition has increased dramatically since then.

    Oh,

Sarah Summer's product is good, according to clickbank stats but that sales page is HORRIBLE.

I have a review site/blog and i get organic traffic to the blog - i always get some sales in for this. Its not good for PPC...but for organic traffic its good IF you have a convincing review site.

    Matt,

If I were you I would try split testing a link to Sarah Summer's payment page and one to her sales page. Perhaps skipping her sales page will improve conversions. Man that sales page sucks, but maybe it converts.

I do this with all affiliate links. Sometimes my pre-sale works better than their sales page. Sometimes not. But if I test it at least I know.

I agree Keyaziz which is why the site was created to help people first and foremost, it's only now it's become popular i'm looking for the best way to monetize the traffic.

There isn't a single sales page in sight. It talks about the causes, the symptoms and treatments. All the content is about the problem, not about what "how to cure a yeast infection in 12 hours".

    ***On topic***

I've emailed about 10 clickbank products asking for their advice. I doubt they could turn this opportunity down.

If I had a yeast infection I would head on down to the pharmacy and buy some monistat. I would not buy an ebook.

That being said I do have a friend that suffers from recurrent (monthly) yeast infections. I know that monistat (and the likes) work for her in the short term but they keep coming back.

She would spend any amount of money to figure out why they keep on happening and how to get rid of them.

(On a side note her doctor told her that "some people just get a lot of them" that is not a reasuring statement when it is something that is controlling her life)

Isn't jock itch a form of male yeast infection? I'm not going to ask ...
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[899396].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author artwebster
Jock itch can be caused by yeast infections but is also caused by extreme exposure to salt chrystals formed by evaporating sweat in tight undergarments. There have been cases where the itch has been caused by an aggravated herpes blister.

Although I can agree that medical practitioners often treat the symptoms rather than the cause, they tend to do so after a physical examination which can indicate whether there is an underlying cause or a risk of further damage.

I know one doctor, here, who has stopped making enquiries about boy friends and sexual activity because she realised she was not getting honest responses but she assures me that many recurring yeast infections happen because only the female partner is treated - the male simply isn't aware that he is the source.

I've worked in it, but this was more strictly through article marketing...

the reason why it may not convert, is because so many people do not actually know what a yeast infection is.

try instead things like "getting rid of smell, itching, burning" etc.. people would more easily relate to this, than yeast infection.

it would be like i say now "cerebral palsy" how many people actually know first hand what this is? but if i said, twisting of bones, joints, imobilization, crutches... etc you would get a better idea, right?

Matt, I understand that you want to give a lot of information, but remember, if you want to sell something, at some point you have to "sell something", know what I mean?

If you have page upon page upon page of information, but don't nudge your readers to buy, they are not going to. You have to throw the link in their face and then let the sales page take care of the rest.

Hey Matt, I'd be looking into probiotics......yeast infections are caused by candida that EVERYONE gets if they've EVER taken an antibiotic (and who hasn't?) Antibiotics not only kill bad, but good bacteria and cause an overgrowth of candida. It wreaks havoc on both men and women. In women, it manifests as a yeast infection..........perhaps some articles in this area will bring them to your site, because ALOT of women do not know this!!

    Cheers, and good luck!

The advice i've been given from the Clickbank Vendors an some other people is that i sohuld personalize the site more.

I should add my own story, presell the product and add links to the book in the articles.

    Currently i just have banners.

I just started in this niche at the beginning of June and I have done a number of sales. I like the niche, even though I am not keen on the topic, but I create websites that provide quality information (well that is the aim anyway) but I target them at people who I think will be interested in whatever product I am selling, therefore I honestly believe that most people that come to my site will benefit from the product, so I have know problem with putting the product right in there face, in fact I think I would be doing them a disservice to not make sure they are aware of it when they visit my site.

Matt, yes preselling it definitely is good and can be the missing key, but to be honest I have lots of success by just doing a page the condiut method way, where I don't actually review the product in anyway I just list various things about it and report on it and get some independent reviews from else where online.

I think this works for me because people can see that the information on my site is good and that I just don't offer one paragraph of rubbish info (like some others do) but that there is lots of useful information to build my credibility so they are more secure with buying.

My question to you is how can you add your own story if you have never had a yeast infection or never used the product? Or maybe you have. I don't know, but I think there are other ways of doing it, if you really don't have your own personal story, personally I don't feel comfortable making one up, It think there are other ways that are just as effective.

Thats, just my spin on things though.

    ~ Carlton

I've had some great advice form several different sources, including clickbank vendors themselves and WF as well as looking at other people's sites.

I think the main problem was i had some great information and trust but i'm not doing anything with it.

So what i've done is created a new page on on "How To Cure......" and basically presell the clickbank product by explaining that while over the counter products will destroy the yeast infection, they do not cure it(this is true).

Then i've gone and edited every single article and placed more emphasis on this while linking back to my presell page numerous times in different ways.

I've also jugged things about a bit.

The only thing now is, i don't have any banners on my website and it looks a bit bare.

Thankyou for your help everyone, this one has proved a little tough to crack but hopefully i can post with some results in the next 7 days.
