I would go for the seo client. One good client can make you $3000 or more. Month after month!

Or if your 10 year old domain has high PR, you could sell links. One year homepage link $500. This is a bargain and you would easily find 6 people who would pay for that.

  No, it's not dead, it's a numbers game, just like every other form of marketing.
  
  - On TV, you're lucky to get one sale for every 250,000 viewers.
  - In Print, the numbers are even worse.
  - On the web, you're lucky to get a CTR of 1% for your ads - meaning only 1% of those who see the ad will actually click on it.
  - Then, of those, only 1-5% on average will actually convert into a sale.
  
  Cold calling beats them all... If I call 100 people, I will get at least one sale, every time.
  
  In 2011 I had a 3 person team clearing an average of $5k per day, 5 days a week. If you know how to introduce yourself so you don't sound like a marketer, know your product, and are targeting the people who can afford it and would actually benefit from it, you will win.

Develop a portfolio on Freelancer, Elance, focus on 2 good ones, have your current clients purchase there to build your rep, then it will take off, also contact people about jobs. 1 job can make you that much. Combine PPC with this, only go after 100% leads, it's so easy.

"Get realistic?" You could do $3K in one day on the phone. List building takes a lot more than 15 days...

Are you attractive? The easiest way would be prostitution.

If you don't have that going for you, then stealing it would be next on the list.

Followed by drug dealing. And conning old people.

If you don't have the stomach for any of those, then you would be best off liquidating some assets. Try ebay or craigslist.

After that, you could try selling a lot of hosting on fiverr to make up any shortcomings.

If all of that sounds unappealing, then maybe you should step back from imposing unrealistic goals on yourself, and instead apply a sound marketing plan to scale up your services.

Everybody needs hosting. What are you doing to differentiate yourself and convince people you are better than Hostgator? (something that should be pretty easy, btw, if you know the right triggerpoints...)

If you don't want to make the calls, have you considered hiring someone who can? A good salesperson writes his own check, because he is worth every penny.
