Thoughts on business idea

I know there is one now but my partner owns the domain copycontest.com

And we are thinking of creating this. A site where someone submits their idea or the type of marketing copy they envision and other copywriters submit their concepts of what the copy should be and the owner will pick the winner. Kind of like 99designs, designcrowd, etc

How many people think this will do good. The other site that is doing this now is doing great!

Anyone interested in partnering?

    The big hurdle that I see is how do you stop people from using the copy without paying? For graphics, when you submit concepts you can watermark it or only submit low-res versions, so the person needs to pay for the final files. With copy, anyone can take it and use it (even if it's not even for their product!).

      True. But you pay in advance. Say I am the customer looking for a catchy tagline for my company. I have to pay in advance. You sign up and there are packages per say. For instance you pay $100 a can get up to 30 or more different ideas on Business Names, Taglines etc submitted by copywriters. The money is put in an escrow account on the site. The company keeps a listing fee and the winner (Copywriter) that is chosen gets the rest. You can give feedback on submissions by copywriters, etc.

      A winner has to be chosen so someone will get the $100.

      Copyshoppy.com is the only company that we know of doing this. Very cool concept and time for competition!

      And you can keep the contest hidden if you do not want any other people to see it. You can select if you want other copywriters to see submissions etc but the general public can not see submissions
