Where do I go from here?

I have an ebook and a website that I created nearly 3 years ago. It isn't anything special and I currently devote 0 time to it because I have a more than full time job and when I am not working I am busy with my kid. I just don't have time for it.

It bugs me because I know it could do so much more than what it is doing. I have noticed an increase in sales over the last couple of months. The site is getting some decent traffic. I know it could convert better if it was marketed right. I currently sell a few books a week/month. Most of those are my own sells and about 30% are from affiliates. It is a nice little bonus in my account every couple of weeks when the funds are deposited to my account.

I don't have a huge budget but I could definitely spend a little here and a little there to make improvements. I just don't know where to start. I was really into making this thing work a when it first began but it seems to do better now that I just don't do anything. I would kind of like to hire someone to revamp the whole thing for me and get it going in the right direction cause I do think it could be profitable if done right. I would even consider partnering up with someone. I don't know.

I would love to get some advice from someone that is more current on the market these days. Is it worth salvaging? I mean. Surely if I can sell 3 books a week then 300 a week should be achievable right?

What is the book about? If it's a marketing related book maybe you can start by revamping it and putting the link to it in your signature.

Since you are already converting, you don't need a lot of effort to increase your sales. Study your prospects well, and promote your site/page on social media to increase the traffic. And since you are not planning to do a lot in IM, create another e-book that offers more value. The people who bought the e-book will most likely buy the second one as repeat customers. This shouldn't take a lot of your time.

And when you get time to do more IM, you could think of a product to promote in the Herbal Hound narrow niche, you've already established yourself in this.

You have the product and you are making sales...so you might not a whole lot tweaking on your website/product. What you need most is marketing your product. There are many ways to do this but on a very high level there are 2 ways:
      • Outsource your website promotion/marketing
      • Do the web promotion/marketing yourself

Depending on where your preference is, we can suggest next steps. In any case, it would be good to know more about how many hits you are getting, where is it coming from etc.

Sure. Thank you for the feedback and help.

I would love to outsource the website promotion and marketing. It just isn't something I am really good at and I know I have done my product a disservice by doing it all on my own thus far. I think it is pure luck that it gets as many hits and converts as many sales as it does now which is why I want to look at the options of bringing in a professional. I just honestly don't even know where to start with that or even what a ball park figure would be to hire a serious IM'er.

Right now I am getting a daily organic hit range of around 50 to 60 hits per day. 50 - 60 hits from the search engines that is. I am also getting another 100 or so from random links and affiliates I guess not sure where they are coming from exactly just random sites that have linked to me somewhere. So I am getting around a 150 a day on good days. There are days where I have less and it seems to fluctuate a bit here and there but I would say that 150 is about average. Which I thin is good because back when was trying so hard I was getting 4 or 5 hits a day. I know it is converting but I would just think it could convert better than it is currently. I have never had a strong sales copy. At least not like some of the copy I have read where you just almost can't stop yourself from buying whatever it is.

The website/ product I am talking about is the Herbal Hound book there is a link in my signature. I will add it here just incase you can't see it or I don't know maybe it is not working. Essentials For The Herbal Hound

Great sales page!....I get fed up with these mile long "hard sell" sales pages, yours is great and creates a good feeling in me that you know & care about your subject matter.

IF you are getting 100-150 daily uniques from primarily a sales page, you are faced with a very nice dilemna......just start building out more content on your site related to your ebook to the same standard as your sales page and the traffic WILL follow.

I might even look at promoting it myself as I have a few herbal / natural remedies / home remedies sites.

      Regards
      Kevin

Of course it is worth salvaging, it's a really nice looking website. You are still making sales so the ebook is relevant.

Have someone redo the sales copy if you feel it isn't as good as it could be. Maybe change the font as it's a bit harsh on the eyes.Well done though, you are doing a lot better than many who are pushing their site day and night.

It sounds like you want the monthly passive income from this site but you couldnt simply sell the site and product and get a lump sum. In general you can get about 12 X your monthly profit, as is.

If you are looking at increasing your monthly profits with minimal work you could look into outsourcing some the tasks as others have mentioned. Something like TaskBullet could work well for this, it wouldn't require much work to get an assistant.

Another option you have is to start using PPC. Run Facebook Ads and Google/Microsoft Ads and drive traffic to the website in a rather passive way.

    >>> Double-check the link in your sig because it is going to a different website. <<<

If you were to set up a blog in this sub-niche ("herbal remedies for dogs"), you may be able to generate more traffic to your ebook offer. I really like the sales page. I'm guessing this is a Clickbank product?

Maybe you can create your own ebook and promote it, instead of, or in addition to this affiliate product.

Since you are already getting traffic and sales
maybe you should develop a backend with upsells.

Build a list and find others within your niche
that you can swap promotional messages with.

I like the page, it's nice and personal and just enough info.
You're getting around 1000 visitors and 3 sales per week? Then it converts pretty good. I would hold off on "revamping it" since you have a working concept. Instead, work on promoting it and get more traffic to it. Maybe start posting free ads on various classified sites.
