Just bought my first web domain!

just post quality unique articles as possible. It will be beneficial in to the site in the long run.

That first domain is always exciting! You can't go wrong with unique articles, that's for sure. Put an anchored link to your index on every page of your website and go out and get a lot of links for your site. That is just as important as putting on the content.

I also agree with the original content. Keep it fresh and unique. Constantly include cross reference links. I built my first site 10 years ago and it's been quite a ride. We now have a network of several websites and can hardly keep up with it all.

Good for you! Having your own domain is very important these days.

The key is to have quality UNIQUE content. Therefor you want the articles on your site not to be found anywhere else on the web. Goodluck with your domain

Thank you for all of the great information. I am rewriting all of my articles I have already posted on Hubpages. Up until now, I have always used Squidoo.com for landing pages, but I know I need to start doing more stuff to maximize my potential in my niche.

I have two more questions. First question is...Should I point all of my articles to the home page, or should I mix it up between the different pages of the site? I have a simple five page site for now, and I'll improve it as I see my results. I realize that with some sites, specifically Ezinearticles.com, they want you to point all of your links to the home page.

My 2nd question is about the domain name I used. I think I screwed up here. I targeted a specific keyword that averages 20 hits a day with my article on Hubpages, but I named the site with a dash "-" between each word. Now I think I should have named the site with no dashes"-" between each of the words. If this was a bad idea, couldn't I just buy the domain name (if it is still available) without the dashes and redirect it to my site?

Also, has anyone had success with ranking squidoo pages without pointing other articles to their squidoo page?

Congrats on your first domain! However, if you don't succeed this time, you have to try again and again!
But be careful, once you've bought your first, you'll get addicted and your credit card statement will be littered with domain payments LOL!
