Amazon AStore worth the time and effort?

Hi Warriors,

My name is Owen and I got a quick question about how effective is Amazon aStore? Im in a process of just completing my own website and this is something I would like to include in my business. I know my niche I want to explore and already completed 5 - 6 different blogs that related to that niche. Just need to upload them on to my website. The thing is I want to give my visitors the best complete experience, I want to be the best to go when they need honest reviews and advice. Don't get me wrong I know it's going to take time but I have the commitment to get this DONE and make it HAPPEN!!!

So after exploring what else I could do to improve my website, I stumbled across Amazon a store. I heard both positive and negative things about setting one up and the day to day managing of it. Most of the feedback that i have come across as follows.....

EXAMPLES
Positive

  • Setting up an Amazon a store is easy and doesn't require a lot of time to set one up.
  • Established brand that sells over billion products on-line. So no issue with variety.
  • Amazon sells over millions products a day.
Negative

  • Commissions are low. Anything from 4% - 8% I believe.
So with that said, has anyone have personal experience with running an Amazon A Store and could they possibly share there experiences with me. My initial goal with this is to sell $127/£75.00 worth of products a day and considering the price points vary from as little as $20/£11 to the highest being around $300/£175. Am I being realistic with this?

Your feedback on the subject would be appreciated very much.

The biggest problem with A store and similar API stores is that they are considered as search engine spam by Google. What that means is that you may be successful for a few months before you find your traffic tapering off or even have your site completely re-indexed. So in essence these shops can make you some money but is unlikely to be long term.

One possibility is to by some PPC ads to your store but this is risky.

But what happens if I have a huge list? Wouldn't that help me in the long term?

That would certainly help, just do not rely too much on search engine traffic.

Yes, it will help you very much indeed in the short-, medium- and long-term as long as it comprises people who have voluntarily opted in to be on your list because you're the person from whom they want to receive emails, and provided that you've kept them nourished with a suitable autoresponder series, each person from the day they opted in, and provided that you've set their expectations appropriately, and provided that you have a good and well-planned continuity process in place for them. Otherwise not. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6123982

I've been an Amazon affiliate for a couple of years or so, now (though admittedly it isn't the main income-source of my affiliate marketing business). If I were starting tomorrow, the "store approach" is one I'd reject very quickly indeed.

It's possible that this thread may help you a lot: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6608638

So if I promote my site via daily blogs, youtube and forum posting and the obvious social media, im bound to get traffic to my site. Not going to push it in peoplr faces. I was going to be clever with it. Soinds good business to me
