What is the driving force behind why you do what you do? When you are having a "rough" day how do you turn it around?

My "why" are my sons because when I was in the retail industry? I had to jump through hoops to get a Saturday off to go to see them play football or basketball. I worked 12 to 14 hour days and just did not have time to spend that quantity of time with my kids. I believe in spending as much time as I can with them as opposed to trying to plan quality time. I also was a salaried employee so I knew what my check was every two weeks. I wanted to write my own check.

When I am having a "rough" day, I go deep within myself and think about my kids and my other goals that I have set for myself. This works for me, what works for you?

Because there were some years in my twenties that I somewhat wasted, and I want to always look back and feel that I have been doing something worthwhile.

The opportunity to set my daughter and my decedents up for as long as they can properly manage what I leave behind is my motivation.

I'm forcing my 11 year old daughter to read the classic "The Richest Man In Babylon" and other books of that sort to help frame her mind to maintain and grow the family estate in the future.
