Purchasing a $1,997 Program , go for it

I just added up all the little purchases I've made over time. You know the $7.00 reports, the $37.00 video series, etc. All of them seem small, but over time it adds up quickly. Just this month I have over $300 of little purchases like that. I'm addicted to good copy I guess and want to know the "secret" behind all this little things. For the most part I'm wasting my money and time. Most of those are just common sense with some twists, many of which can be found by reading here.

So why not buy that $1,997 course I've been wanting and give up these little purchases? I don't know. The problem is I'd probably but that course, then still buy the little ones cause "It's only $7.00"

A Starbucks Frap at $3.00 5 days a week adds up to $780 in just one year. Wow.. How many of use would plunk down $780 for a Frap pass at the start of the year? Most wouldn't, but they will buy one each day for just $3.00.

Instead you could just go spend about $100 at Amazon and buy all the Dan Kennedy books, and maybe spend another $200 on Ebay for some of his materials and you'd have more actionable content then spending $5000 on most courses.

I spent a lot of money in some top products (total up to be close to $7k)...but it's all worth it.

Quality contents are usually more expensive. Same thing with cars.

People love bargains, as people love expensive items. The main difference is we don't buy the expensive ones that often.

But you did bring in to discussion a nice idea:

My question is do you implement or do you just buy?

It seems like lots of folks just buy stuff and that's it.

This is exactly what I would point out. If you're not making a lot of money online I wouldn't buy a $2000 product. If you're making 5 figures a month and a $2000 product would help you boost your sales 20-30%, then it's worth it.

It's all return, if you are just buying and not doing, I would stop buying immediately and try some of the stuff you've already bought

some of us just buy but a small percentage implements. Mos of us just read the stuff and go: "I know this" well I must object to that and say: YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT UNLESS YOU LIVE IT AND BREATHE IT AND IMPLEMENT IT!

Do you want to MAKE money or spend it? <--- think about it.
Enough sources online to get all the information you need - free. $2000 will give you a bunch of "information", all right. But you will STILL have to get up your *** and DO something.

Wrong, Jason. I have several of Dan Kennedy's products:

          1. 3 versions of Magnetic Marketing (including the newest 2009 version)
          2. The Ultimate Information Entrepreneur (a big, thick ugly book of photocopied stuff)
          3. The Ultimate Marketing Plan
          4. The Ultimate Sales Letter
          5. No BS Sales Success
          6. Two other No BS books (can't remember the names)
          7. Renegade Millionaire

Plus, I have an MP3 of one of his talks which is basically a sales talk for his Magnetic Marketing kit.

Have I studied Dan Kennedy enough??? But I started studying Dan Kennedy back in 1996.

Finally, I decided to focus take action in one of the programs and really MAKE money as opposed to see other people make money on the net..

you know what is usually the difference between the 1,997 USD course and the 7 USD ebook?

the ones selling 1,997 USD courses have more affiliates, better looking websites and much better copywriters

sometimes 7 usd reports have more actionable good content than the hyped 1,9997 USD courses...

Yes, amazon books, 8$ cost, are much better many times than the crazy priced 1997 USD courses like launchtree or mass control. but it takes a while for people to open their eyes and separate HYPE from reality...

    • Interesting discussion...

I am not going to debate the value of a $7 product versus
a $2000 product since many of you have debated that before.

What I will say is this...

There's nothing "wrong" in buying too many courses
and regardless of the price associated.

The main issue I think is how you actually manage
      your TIME constraints.

We all know your time is limited and not always
"more is better" when managing your TIME.

So, you need to balance the TIME you invest in learning
the "secrets" from a $7 product and a $2000 product.

This factor can be considered "POTENTIAL income"...
where you actually are NOT making money (yet) from what
you've learned... just from reading the $7 or $2000 courses.

In other words... the action of READING brings "no money"!

      ......

Than you have the TIME you actually spend in developing
and promoting your own products (or affiliate products).

This factor can be considered "ACTUAL income"...
where you actually USE what you've learned from reading
      the $7 or $2000 courses.

And it is this action of DOING IT... that brings the money!

Therefore, you must work on your business constraints
      so you can manage both:

      a) the "POTENTIAL income"...
(reading brings no money and consumes TIME)

      b) versus the "ACTUAL income"...
(taking ACTION with what you've READ in A) brings you money
... and also consumes your TIME resources)

NOTE: Yes, I know this is a DEPENDANT process above...
As you can not make money without learning something first.

In all cases, I think it is the balance in managing the information
you can receive FIRST... and only later debating the VALUE of the
information you have bought/received that you should question.

      ......

I currently ask myself 2 questions before I purchase anything
online around the IM niche and regardless of the price associated.

Question #1: Will this $7 or $2000 product
move me further into my desired goal?

      - "YES", then I might consider purchasing it!
      - "NO", then I move on!

Question #2: What is the opportunity cost (OC) of buying
another course for $7 or $2000... versus DOING what
I currently KNOW... and that brings me "ACTUAL income"?

      - "LOW OC", then I might consider purchasing it!
      - "MEDIUM OC", then I might consider purchasing it or not!
      - "HIGH OC", then I move on!

Remember, that "POTENTIAL income" only becomes
"ACTUAL income" when you TAKE ACTION. And you
need to manage your TIME to decide between the two!

      Regards,

      Frederico Vila Verde

Some items are all worth buying online especially if they can give you more value in return.

It's like buying a large coffee in StarBucks. It costs like almost $4.50 but it's all worth it as soon as it goes into your mouth and you drink it. :-)

Nothing that I purchased at the price higher than $1000 was worth
      that money.
      Why is it so?
Everybody sells through JVs and at least a half of the price is for
      paying JV partners and affiliates.
If you pay e.g. $1997 for a home study course, the actual value
is often under $997, to be generous.

Chances that you will get the value for your money increaes
      under $97 price tag.
