hi, warriors.. i just wanna ask what type of graphics does the minisitefrog and minisite911 have their in their site..

Jay,

The most common types of graphics you'll find on websites are jpg, png, and gif files (.jpg, .png, .gif).

Look in the source code and see what file extention is used for the particular graphic.

If you don't know how to find those particulars in the source code, now would be a good time to learn.

sorry to get you confused.. what i mean is the main background of their site, for example the frog in the minisitefrog and the doctor in the minisite911..

what is the best term to call that graphic, like swoosh and vector graphics in photoshop.. do you get what i mean..

anyway, thanks for your response, atleast it makes my mind clear regarding the types of graphics.. thanks again..

Oh, ok. No, they are no vectors. Just simple shapes, and flattened layers.

Yeah I'd take a bet that they're stock too, but minisite frog in particular isn attractive site.

You can create backgrounds in photoshop and set them with CSS. Play around with photoshop to create the image you want for your site and then search google for a good guide on PSD>XHTML/CSS - This one might be of use to you.

Most are stock images, If you search on istockphoto or other stock phot sites, there is a lot of stock in this type of style!

  a 3D creation software (3ds Max, etc.). The minisite owners purchased
  them on iStockPhoto.com.

The characters (the frog and doctor) are 3D models. They're created with 3D modeling programs like Lightwave (what I use), Maya, Modo, etc. After rendering (the process where the program creates a shaded image from the wireframe model), they're saved as .jpg or other image formats.
