GetResponse double opt-in won't turn off?

Anyone have this problem? I have set it to off but for some reason it is still requiring a double opt-in? I am using the API key and it has advised me to answer some questions and submit for further review. I guess to determine if they will let that api key be changed to single opt-in... Is this normal and does Aweber allow single opt-in api keys without going through this? I would just like to know before I end up using all of my 30 day trial with getresponse

You'll need approval from their compliance dept. for single-optin through the API for each campaign.

Usually takes 24 hours or so after you reply to their questions.

Single opt-in can be turned on or off for each campaign if you're using a webform or email autoresponder.

So in order for single opt-in I will need to create a opt-in forum using awebers or getresponse's web interface on there site then send it to my optimize press site. Like I can't just use the opt-in forums for a template add the api key and it will be auto turned off if i set it to off? I will have to send a email each time regardless?

Yes it's normal. It only takes a day or two for approval.

False. Please see above and contact us if you have an application usage where it's appropriate.

You can do single-opt with both Aweber and Get Response, contact your customer support if you're having problems. Both of them have great customer support in my opinion.

Some people reading this may be confused now, so to clarify:

    1) Normal webforms

When someone optin to your list via your website (they entered their email in the webform on your site), you are in control, and decide (in the settings) whether you want to use single or double optin for this webform.

    2) API

This is when you have a product for example, and want people automatically added to your buyers list after they purchase your product.

Now, pay attention to the following: in this case (API), the default is to double optin. That means that if someone buys your product, he WILL have to click on the confirmation email even if you turned on single optin in this campaign's setting.

What to do to turn this API thing in single optin?

You have to contact aweber or getresponse compliance team and wait for approval. That's it.

What to do if they don't approve you or you don't want to contact them, or you have a launch today?

Simple: on your thank you page, make sure that you have an optin form before your customer access the product.

    3) Examples:

    A - Scenario without API:

John Buys from your sales page ---> John opt in (in the form on your Thank You page) --> John Access the Product in the download area. End.

The problem here is: if John doesn't optin, he can't access the product.
The Solution: Add a link below the optin form if he wants to access the product without optin.

B - Scenario with API key integration:

John Buys from your sales page ---> He is automatically added to your list --> John Access the Product on Thank You page. End.

    Problem: non. Perfect.

I had the same problem with getresponse recently. But they explain it all on their site.

    You need to email gr-compliance@cs.implix.com
and answer the following questions in relation to your list building efforts:

    1) Are the contacts aware of the fact that
they are being added to a mailing list?
Their explicit permission must be expressed.

    2) What are your expectations regarding
the size of the list? How many contacts
are you going to add daily?

    3) Which campaign do you wish to be set
    to single optin API?

    4) Please provide us with the detailed information
about your entire list acquisition process
(including the links to your websites).

    They explain it all here
How can I disable double opt-in confirmation? - GetResponse Support

    Should take about 2 days.

It's pretty normal that signing up from the API will trigger a double optin. But I think you will have no problems getting them to change a campaign to single optin if you have a normal funnel or if it's for buyers.

A little tip: if you sign up to getresponse from jvzoo, then every list you make from jvzoo's interface will have a single optin API.
