Better marketing online tactics

So this is my first thread. I do need a little help with somethings. My Question is what is some better marketing tactics? Do you have any ideas or suggestions?

One thing I think that could be helpful is video marketing. I mean video marketing to cell phones in a video message. Lets say someone wants to know more about your product. You have them leave there cell phone number in a form that you create. If there phone can receive MMS, then send them a clip of maybe 60 seconds explaining more about the product. Also you can send a link with the message to where they can get the product.

Now I know that the main problem would be is getting the size of the video to a size that any phone can receive it. That is just a idea. Are there any company or people doing this already?

I do how ever do blogs. Blogs can be very effective.

Please tell me how you feel about the video marketing is a good idea or not?

DURABLEOULCOM has mentioned this already. You should build your email list and I'm sure a lot of people will mention this as well. There are many ways to build an income but If you don't have the capability to drive traffic, or if you don't have an audience to sell the things you created or you have chosen then it will definitely be useless.

I say build a list because It is the only way to get traffic on DEMAND. meaning whenever you want to sell something and drive it to a page, all you need to do is write an email and press send.

Why not get their names, emails and mobile phone numbers by offering something beneficial? By doing this -- You can initially send emails to prospects, and these emails can contain the link/s to your video/s in your site or in Youtube via your channel. You can then send MMS or SMS or voice messages to those who already bought the products you promoted to them, so as to help them out with some supplemental affiliate product recommendations...

Sending MMS and / or SMS locally or globally may be quite expensive, especially since you'll just be sending these to prospects. And, this'll just add up to your promotional / advertising / marketing costs for getting traffic to your opt-in form in the first place. And, many mobile users regularly check their emails on their mobiles, anyway...

By doing what I mentioned above -- This could allow you to focus on getting traffic to your opt-in form, then focus on converting via your follow-up emails those prospects into buyers, and again focus on converting via MMS / SMS one-time buyers into repeat buyers...

This for me sounds better, in terms of investing in annual online promotional / advertising / marketing campaigns...
