affiliate wordpress store?

I am looking into set up an affiliate wordpress store. I'll probably want to promote CJ and clickbank products.

What plugins and themes would you recommend using?

For themes what is the best way of going? Is one theme better than another? I would like the site to look simple but professional.

Also I am looking into link cloaking plugins. is it worth it?

Also is it best to keep wordpress updated or can we use a earlier version if plugins dont work with newer versions?

    There's lots of new theme in market, you can choose to promote..but the thing is, a big traffic comes from Mobile devices...so your theme should be responsive to different device sizes.

    Plugin choice depends upon, what kind of functionality you want over your store. There's lots of free & paid plugins in market, you can take as per requirement.

    Link clocking plugin can be act as an essential element to keep you safe from google in terms of SEO, i'd recommend it.

      So I need to find a responsive theme? Also is there a certain theme designed for affiliate store or that does it better than other designs?

      I've looked at a few themes but the way there shown they look like there mostly for portfolios and news/magazines.

      Also if you can direct me to any other resources i'll appreciate it.

    On a side note, most new theme's are responsive, though it doesn't hurt to double check.

    As said, depends on what you want to do. Also, depends on what kind of products you want to promote.

    If your looking for a "store" type theme, you might want to to look for amazon style themes. Even if your not going to promote amazon stuff, it sounds more what your looking for.

    Only other ones I see, as stores, are for woocommerce, but of course those are for ecomm stores.
