Thanks for the info. Do you know if Linux or Windows hosting is best for these tools and if cpanel is required to install the software?

you need windows hosting for it. rest all is good , don't worry about kvm and openvz. go with windows hosting for ScrapeBox, XEN/kvm is better in virtualization as it do not allow resource reselling/sharing as compared to openvz.

If its windows OS required Cpanel cannot be installed on windows Server, so its not required.

I will vote for Webhost UK reliable provider with good support.

Rshosting is a good addition you can check them as well

I used to run a web hosting and Windows VPS company and my first piece of advice is ask the hosting company specifically if they allow scrapebox and GSA. Many will not. I'll answer your questions real quick:

    1) Definitely need Windows (Windows will be more btw because you have the cost of the license.)

    2) Don't need cPanel

    3) Shouldn't matter. We used to used 2003 as well.

    4) Doesn't matter much, this is just the virtualization type.

    5) See above. Check with the companies.

There are some companies out there that specifically run VPS for SEO tools. Scrapebox has their own page for VPS:

    VPS Servers - ScrapeBox

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Like Incomecoaster said not all hosting company allows SEO tools, you will be better off using an offshore hosting company, that allow that, and if I am to suggest, I will go with bulletproofvps, very cheap and a nice customer service that will provide answers to all your question.

You have to use VPS Windows to install and use GSA and SB

    I recommend Windows 2008 R2 standard

I've used GSA + GSA CB + SB + Zennoposter for a long time in only one VPS and I'm using this cheap window vps along with coupon

    1- windows or linux hosting
-- I recommend Linux hosting unless you require windows components like asp.net or mssql, in that case you will need windows hosting.

2- is cpanel required to be able to install GSA and Scrapebox
-- No, you can install it without control panel.

3- if windows hosting is best can either of these be used:
    A. windows 2008 R2 standard
    B. windows 2012 standard
    -- Windows 2008 R2 standard would suffice.

    4- Which one is better:
    A. openvz
    B. kvm
-- KVM is a better option

Some people have recommended webhost.uk.net and rshosting, beware of them because both are same companies. I read a terrible review about them on a review site. The user had complained about terrible customer service from Indians who could not even type proper english but the worst part was that they were not able to understand the issue and screwed up more. The user found out that both are same company due to wrong signature in the ticket.

You'll need Windows, I don't think GSA SER works on Linux, and you don't need cpanel.

Get a dedicated server rather than a VPS from a reseller. Datashack and online.net both do dedis at a reasonable price.
