What do you think is happening here?
Last year I created 1 niche-specific site for a remedy product in CB. After several months, the site was giving me 4 to 5 sales a week earning a commission of $42.50 per sale. That's roughly $680 to $850 per month. The site performed better entering 2014 when it made at least 1 sale a day. I continuously added fresh articles daily until last March. The traffic slightly increased but the sales has dramatically decreased to the point that I only made 9 sales for the whole March. The traffic had increased but the conversion reached rock bottom. I suspected something fishy was happening.
I replaced the product with a much lower commission ($28.50 per sale) and the conversion has increased. Now it is earning at least 1 sale per day again with the new product but not making the same because of lower commission per sale.
What do you think happened. I tried contacting the product owner but I got snubbed several times.
Although I still add articles from time to time, I now concentrate on an authority site with dozens of different products (planning to promote hundreds to even thousands). I learned a lesson, that promoting just one product is not reliable at all.
