Alternative to Amazon.com?

Hi Everyone,
Last October Amazon.com cut affiliate ties with Maine residents because our wonderful governor insisted sales tax be withheld and reported on all Maine residents.
Does anyone know if there is another alternative to Amazon that would be a good substitute?
Thank you!

What are you selling? Anything specific?

There's not an easy one-to-one replacement out there...while I've heard of people affiliating for say Walmart.com my understanding is that none of the current alternatives have quite the same mix of great selection and respectable commission.

You would have more luck looking for a mid-sized company with an affiliate program in your niche of choice. For example, I did a search for "fitness equipment affiliate" and the first option I found starts with offering 8% commission on quite a variety of equipment. You might have to go through 3rd-party networks like Commission Junction, but at least it'll let you get up and running despite the tax law changes.

Pretty much what Alex says, type in the niche you are targeting into Google with 'affiliate program' at the end and see what options you get. E-Bay is another avenue to explore.

Just go over to Affiliate Programs - LinkShare and sign up for their buy.com (dba rakuten.com now)

They've got a large selection of products just like Amazon. Hope that helps.
