JVZoo and Affiliate Commissions.

I put a small package up on jvzoo recently (dimesale). It's been up for a month or so with no sales. I recently got a message from an affiliate who wants me to up her commission to 100%. Of course, I'm new to all this, so can someone tell me why I would want to do that?

If the affiliate is legit, the big incentive for you would be to build a buyers list and/or OTO sales.

The other incentive would be to get this affiliate to mail so it increases your conversion rate so other affiliates will jump onboard or to use their conversion numbers as social proof on your JV page.

Be careful with this though. look to see what country the affiliate is coming from and their sales history.

If they are unproven, don't waste your time or risk this being a scam:

You offering 100% to a top gun affiliate is one thing, but if they are basically demanding it before they will promote, I'd tell them to get lost. But that's just me. I've missed out on some opportunities in the past by not kissing up (but I have no regrets), and it's fine if you feel you need to make that concession to start making some sales.

The points Mark Hess made are spot on. If its a big affiliate, you have more to gain than lose by simply having those buyers added to your list. A lot of sellers offer 100% on the front end and then they have an upsell where they give affiliates 50%. And some sellers, knowing the value of having a buyer added to their list, will offer 100% commissions all the way through the funnel - but really, you would have to know that your after sale marketing efforts are profitable before doing something like that.

In marketing language this would be what you call a "loss leader".

What you would be doing is giving up the front end profits to gain a known "buyer" lead, that you will be able to market to over and over again, as long as they stay on your email marketing list.

Better known as, "LTV", the life time value of a customer. Many large corporations use loss leaders as a way to build their buyers list. And, that's essentially what you would be doing.

The only advantage of offering 100% on the front end would be to build yourself a list a buyers you would then have a better purchase rate for future products OTO's and Upsells.

But as already said be careful, do your due diligence and beware of scammers

    Hope this helps

If the affiliate has a lot of sales (atleast 1k+ for me but some requires more than that), then that's fine. At least you got to build your buyers from the previous WSO that you've launched.

On the other hand just a the other is saying if just ignore them, there are people who will get the commission and buy the product using a different paypal and just refund it so they get the product for free.
