Yahoo Rolls Out Self-Serve Display Ads!

Well, showing that they still don't get it, Yahoo has rolled out self-serve display ads. Just like Google does. Only problem is they require a $30 a day minimum spend.

When I went through their new site Yahoo! My Display Ads | Create an ad targeted to your customers no mention is made of this until - yep you guessed it, you reach the end of their creative screen. My suggested cost per click? $1.87!

Are you kidding me! I now pay 4 cents per click for ALL my Google display ads.

I wanted to try the new Yahoo service to reach new prospects. I think I'll wait until they come to their senses (probably never.) In the meantime, I'll happily spend my money with Google.

End rant.

Yahoo is constantly coming in behind Google and trying to recreate whatever the last thing Google succeeded in doing. Yahoo will not give up. They try and it just gets worse and worse. That CPC is RIDICULOUS!

I know. Yahoo would get my money if they weren't so greedy. As it is, I'll stick with Google for now.

    I agree with your rant.

Even though Yahoo has a higher conversion rate for their content network compared to Adwords, I have always paid more for the clicks there.

Basically it ended up being a low ROI because of the click price, plus the volume is much lower over there.

I still get emails from them about how the minimum bids on some of my campaigns are lower now even though I rarely use them anymore.

Yahoo just does not get it!
