Whatever next... Customer Delight Manager

I just had to share this with you all.

I received a customer service reply back from a US company I deal with. At the end of their email they gave this as the job title of the person replying:

Mary Henderson
Customer Delight Manager

Now is this taking things too far? Is this corny? Are we missing a trick?

By the way, I am still waiting to be delighted by them.

What other new job positions could we have?

I think I may rename our customer complaints boss as follows:

Sam Smith
Always look on the bright side of life even when we mess up Manager

#customer #delight #manager
  • I agree, Customer Delight Manager is a bit corny - she has a lot to live up to!

Maybe she got it from the saying "surprise & delight" the customer, but you can't live up to that with every customer interaction.

And what happens if you're just pleased with the customer service you receive, not delighted? She's failed at her job.

I hate the word 'experience' when people are describing something. eg: The gold plated signs will brighten up our customers shopping experience.

Well, I suppose that's better than "Afternoon Delight" Manager.

Seriously though, even though it's kind of corny, I kind of like it. I mean it was interesting enough that you posted about it on a message board. It obviously kind of "stuck" with you. Most company email probably gets read and promptly forgotten.

    Cheers,

    Becky

    LOL.

I wonder if the people that make those chocolate covered "Turkish Delights" would be called:

Turkish Delight Customer Delight Managers :-)

I like to call it Customer Care. I think that's not to corny but it's more personal than customer service.

I dislike Customer Care. Too much like Pet Care, like customers are something to be treated like pets: give them a bone and hope they don't bite you. Or, pet them, speak softly to them and calm them down.

And, sadly, that's the kind of attitude some companies have, so Customer Care doesn't send the right message. To me, anyway. But, to each his own...

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Perhaps the focus should be the other way around?

Have position for "Delighted Customers Manager"

If the number of DCs reduced too much, obviously there would be no need ofr the position ( chop off the head).

On the other hand, by ensuring that the vast majority of custromers are converted to DCs - the manager can grow his or her empire - adding staff members and attracting bonuses ... the skys the limit

Big Mike, while I am certainly delighted with your products, a Customer Delight Manager is definitely corney! LOL

Sorry folks, there was a slight spelling error in the job title - she is the Customer De-light Manager. You know, the one that keeps you in the dark!

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
