Is this a good idea?
-Ultimate Site Idea(not confirmed)-
Content: Photos, videos, articles, quotes, news stories, memes, ideas, animated GIFs and tons of other great things go
viral all across the web. Profiles give you the choice to customize it throughout time so it's 100% complete with
everything about yourself on it. When logged in, you have the ability to surf through all of the content provided to you
by the administrators of the site, and the user content uploaded by the users. Pages:
- Surf The Sites Content
- Surf the User Content
Of course I'd probably rename them to something that sounds more clean. Maybe they'll just be mixed together. wait no,
probably not. Some people don't want to see other users content because sometimes it can just be shit. There needs to be
a "trending" or a "popular" page, or they could be on the home page. Noobs content can be viewed via search, link, profile,
hashtag, or they could pay for their content to be promoted. But wait.. User content should not be displayed on the home
page or anywhere too noticeable. People will consider it a "user-based" site, similar to a social network. They'll rely on
others to keep the site up, and it might be hard starting off the community like that. It would be much better and
professional if I put news stories, ideas, quotes, articles, videos, etc. on the home page and other pages. And have users
have their own separate section? i dont feel like talking about this whole thing because it's a lot, but you kind of get the point? Do you think this would be a good idea for a new site?

I feel like this would be a good idea because the content I said in the beginning is popular, people like that kind of stuff. And if it were all to be on one website, where you could join the community, comment on stuff, read and see cool things, talk to others and make friends, then that's pretty cool. Especially when there's going to be admin content. We'll post things that are maybe useful/entertaining? I could probably think of a few other unique things to put on the site. Advertising would be easy. Once I start uploading content to the site like videos, pictures, articles, quotes, news, memes, I can easily advertise each and everyone of those, plus my site, through link building, PPC advertising, facebook advertising, and social networking. And that backlinking thing, i'm not really sure what that is but i can do some research. I'm new to this kinda stuff.

It sounds like a great idea, but execution might be hard if you don't have a big budget

Sounds like you're trying to build...Facebook. What's your site's objective? It must have an objective, otherwise believe it or not, it's going to be pointless. Believe it or not, even Facebook has an objective: Connect with Friends & Share With the World. The Warrior Forum is a community of Internet Marketers. eBay is an online marketplace. Google is a search engine that provides information at your fingertips etc etc etc. To gain clarity, I suggest writing an elevator pitch. If you can, describe your site in just 1 short phrase: FishingLines: The World's Largest Community of Fishing Enthusiasts! Then build your entire site around that 1 single objective. It's going to be extremely tough to create the next Facebook, so I highly suggest going niche market.

    Hope that helped.

Thanks that actually helped a lot. I guess it makes sense to have a main objective if I were to build a big site like that. I'm 16, I don't think I'm ready for stuff like that. So I think I might stick to affiliate marketing, and other money making methods till I learn more programming languages and stuff about business, and of course a budget.

Sounds like a good idea. But it also looks a little overcrowded. Doing too many things might dilute the main goal and might also become tedious to maintain.

Also, ensure that you cover all the other aspects around funding, getting visitors, keeping the visitors busy on your site and how to make your site sticky. Create an addiction around your site and you will be creating the next Facebook!!

            Good luck!

I agree with this post. The idea seems to be great as well as grand. Take well planned steps, I am sure you will learn from the mistakes that you make in the first steps and then you will be able to take further steps much accurately and quickly.

Sounds like a good idea, if you have a way to drive massive traffic to it. It might work.

Just make sure you have a complete plan of execution. Building of Website , Traffic and how you are going to engage your audience. A lot of people made a mistake( me included) in building website but do not have a plan on how to drive traffic to it.

In the end, It's just a good looking website with no visitors on it.

Start with the free stuff that makes money, and then use your profit to invest in courses. Then scale up. Perhaps you could start by doing some writing on Fiverr?

The funny thing is I'm working on the same idea right now. This idea is similar to BuzzFeed.
