Local Connect ?????

Hi! Has anyone every heard of a company called "Local Connect"?
They sent me a bill via my Verzion phone bill to my house, charging me 99.00 plus tax
other fees, total bill 107.70.

I called them on their toll free number and they said that I had approved them to
advertise a online business and that where billing me for that service.

I ask what business and they gave me the name of a web site that I took down
over a year ago.

I told them I have not and would not ask anyone to advertise a web site that is not
up and running on the web, and I have not signed any kind of a contract in person or
by email or phone.

(they have nothing with my signature on it//// they have never talked to me, they called my house and asked my wife if I had a web site by that name and she said I did but it was not on the web any more.)


They also said that they would remove the billing but I do not believe them.

I called Verzion and regestered a protest and put the billing on hold for 90 days
but thats all Verzion can do.

Per Verzion any company or persion can contact them with your phone number and billing address and have Verzion bill you for the money. and Verzion has to do it.

The lady I spoke with said it was a federal law.

any info on this company would greatly aprisheated
