Good news for Whitehatters, Bad news for B'ters - Gmail started SMS Verification

Hi,

Most of the blackhatters uses multiple accounts, and mostly use gmail accounts to make accounts on another site. Even many Craigslist spammers uses Gmails.

The bad news for blackhatters is the Gmail has now started doing SMS verification.

Those who dont do ant blackhat stuff, like making multiple accounts on sites which dont allow, or dont use CL, for them this is a good news

    Presumably the point of creating a multiple account is to generate profits in excess of the cost of a cheap mobile phone, so I wouldn't think SMS verification would pose much of a deterrent to those who find these methods working for them.

    If the profits of such methods aren't sufficient to absorb the cost of a no-frills mobile, then they are hardly worth pursuing anyway.

    Wait a sec - you mean to set up a gmail account you need a CELL PHONE?

    That is ridiculous. Gmail already is stupid enough as it is -- if you try and set up a new GMAIL account they will deliberately make you fill in the "captcha" 3-4 times, retying new info...

    Really, really, quite stupid.
