I have a Ecommerce website and can't seem to get any traffic to it. Need help

I built a website with shopify that specializes in men's fashion and I get anywhere from 1 to maybe 2 visitors a day. Most of the time none. Someone bought a product 2 weeks ago and I was thrilled being that it gets no traffic. I really need help. Do I need to learn SEO? Will that help. Or PPC?. I'm a newbie. What's the best ways to get traffic to my site with good conversions too.

  • There is no 1 method that will give you traffic straight away, here are the methods I have used for my male fashion e-commerce site over the past 18 months (www.stitchleggings.com):

    Free
    Blog posting
    Facebook
    Twitter
    Instagram
    Pinterest
    Newspaper articles

    Paid
    Adwords

    I suggest started all of these but keep going for 6 months and you should see some traffic and sales.

    Getting traffic is a ongoing thing, do Facebook, Twitter, post articles, google plus, start there and outsource those task post twice a week.

    You can use PPC traffic methods my friend. Use the Google keyword planner and type in a general search term a real person would use when shopping for fashion items and hit search. Copy all of the relevant keywords form the list and paste them into your PPC campaign.

    Doesn't work. Hasn't for ages. And never will.

    You need to have a strategy to get traffic. Whether paid traffic through ppc or free traffic through SEO. There are 100s of websites for every internet user. Do you think every website gets huge traffic?
  • I'm hearing "I'm trying to build a business but I've got no business or marketing skills". The answer is simple...you need to learn marketing. Any cursory google search will send you in a zillion directions to places where you can learn internet marketing. Put in the time, learn how to do it. That's all.
