I'm writing an ebook on weight loss and I have a few questions on marketing and creating it.
Is 20 pages long enough? Can I plug in affiliate and cpa links? I'm also creating an exercise routine along, so can include that along with the charge of the book?

Can I collect emails along with selling the book? What a good price range for this type of book? I saw anywhere from $5. 99 to 12.99 on kindle, nook and bookstore.

Please let me know your success stories AND how you did this!

I think $10 or $17 is a good price. The length of the book is not very important as long as you deliver quality content.

Ok, so quality content is king, GOT IT. So what conversion rate can I expect with my affiliate and cpa products from my book? I can I market the book with only $150? I'd like to make 50 sales a month from ebay, fivver, i bookstore, Facebook, pinterest and my blog. Let me know if I'm lost anyone!

In this hard market that I have worked in and sold in one of the most important things is creating a weight loss product using your personal story of how you actually lost weight. And If you have before and after pictures too that is great.

And around twenty dollars would be a good starting point until you get known in the weight loss niche.

Yeah the length of the ebook isn't that important, as long as it teaches people a solid method about losing weight. If it really helps people become healthy then that information is priceless.

For promotion i would collect emails first and create a follow up, this will definately increase your conversions. What you could do in your follow up is show some results of the method, or any other proof that the methid works. Social proof is very important for making sales.

    Good luck!

Ok, so I can give them my email and ask them how things are going. I could also skype with them for a fee or just for free to let them know I'm interested in their success and promote to them some supplements has well! Maybe i could even host a webinar or podcast about my book and give quality information on weight loss program, nutrition, what to stay away from, etc.

What do you think? How can I communicate with them? And do I charge a consultation fee?

Lots of variables in my mind about this... Pricing depends on other similar titles in your market (with the same type of content)... Potential sales depends on marketing and platform. Do you have a platform? Are you a weight loss expert? A certified trainer? Any credentials to back up your theories?

Also is the book any good? Has anyone taken your advice and lost weight? Are there positive reviews - of the book - to give others a positive expectation if they decide to buy?

These are some things help you move above the crowd in a large market like weight loss.

Thanks! And the registered dietitian I meet with a degree was actually OVERWEIGHT AND USELESS! So, my own journey along with some scientific research is all I need to prove my weight loss system works. I could probably keep re writing the same book with different programs to promote and do very well with the right marketing approaches.

Your best success will come from a very focused ebook that tries to solve a very specific weight loss problem (Ex you will often see more success with a "lose belly fat" or "lose those flabby legs" than you will with generic weight loss program (generic programs are simply too numerous and not focused on the "problem" people feel they have at a certain point in time.

I would focus on a kick-butt ebook - probably seek to make it 30-40 pages but yes, of most concern is that it promises and delivers...and that you can provide testimonials and proof that it will (at least for those that follow the plan)

The other key piece that almost everyone overlooks is that your sales letter/sales video will need to be very good to convert...unless you are experienced with copywriting, you will want to learn and test your chops first or be willing to pay to have your copy written or reviewed.

I would focus on converting traffic into warm leads using up-front content (opt-in) that gives perhaps the first lesson or initial steps (partial solution) - this becomes the list that you market your ebook to at (and after) your ebook launch and you can market them CPA as well - this will convert better than trying to combine CPA in your ebook unless there is a very strong alignment between your program and a CPA offer.

Do I use a squeeze page to do this? Can I use my own domain name like simplelifefitness.com/fatlossinfo or something? And my cpa offers would be compatible with my book. Like an interval timer, supplements I recommend etc

I would be more likely to do something like "fast track to bikini body" or "fit & fab fat loss secrets"

I know enough about fitness that you can't spot train to lose fat, but anyways i can go with 15 quality pages.

Yes - I would have a squeeze page where you drive 'cold" traffic (from ads, seo traffic from content, signatures on forums, etc...) - for "warm" traffic such as affiliate traffic or your own list (through multiple exposures) you send them straight to the sales letter. On the sales letter you can test exit pop's, etc... as well.

The challenge is taking what you know (which is obviously a great deal) and matching that with what is inside your prospect's head when they come looking for solutions. I have ebooks of my own in this space and have worked with others - believe me - people tend to be looking for spot solutions even though the answer may be overall fitness.

I would say $17.00 would be a fair price and you could put an affiliate link in the footer maybe use the text of your title. I would use a squeeze page to collect the buyers email that way you can sell to them again. I would recommend aweber to use for managing your email list you get the first month for $1.00 I think. Hope this helps.

Can I use my domain name from my blog on the squeeze page? Or do I need a new one?

I'm writing an ebook on weight loss and I have a few questions on marketing and creating it.
    Is 20 pages long enough?

I have about 50+ ebooks/videos on weight loss in my digitalresalerightspro site - 17 pages is a little light unless you are offering PLR to boot. Truthfully, it is a very competitive niche, so things like your credentials and client testimonials are important. For example, why would someone choose your book over say a $7 book on Amazon with 100+ positive reviews?

Can I plug in affiliate and cpa links? If you're just selling on your own digital platform, you can add affiliate links and point to a squeeze page too to collect leads.

It's a tough market with an audience who is very sophisticated about marketing and very skeptical. If you have something that works though, length won't be an issue and you'll be able to charge whatever you want.

    My 2 cents.

    1. Get a domain
    2. Install wordpress
    3. dress up(get a great theme, apply some sweet images)
    4. Get Aweber
    5. Offer a FREE ebook ~10 pages
    6. Start blogging
    7. Attack social media! Pinterest, Facebook, instagram!
    8. Build a list and start writing those emails.

The concept is used by many people and if you want to view some inspiration head over to chad's site chadhowsefitness.com

I suggest making it longer to about 40-50 pages, people like to get more for less, so with only 20 pages, people may think you are selling them short, but don't make it too long either, it can bore the readers
