Affiliate products in paid information.

Anyone else have this pet peeve? I'm tired of buying information products and finding affiliate links, or links to sites where people are selling affiliate products? If I paid for the information, don't try to upsell me. If you do, I feel cheated, I'm paying for you to advertise to me? It decreases the value of the information... Did you create all the information so you can sell me your product?

It's one thing if you give me the information and try to sell me something as well. I respect that. But if you try to sell me the information and try to sell products within that information, I'm asking for a refund. Anyone else agree? Or am I alone on this one?

As long as you are getting the information and content you paid for, that I believe is all right. It would be a different thing if all you are getting is a sales pitch or a brochure that you just paid expecting content.

Eg. you buy a magazine or a newspaper. They are full of ads, editorials, "öther stuff" .... What do you do? Focus on the content at hand. If the "others" interest you, you check it out.... no difference here.

Thanks for the comment. I have to disagree on the magazine or newspaper, I would compare it to a textbook.

Also, you going to pay 50 cents to a maximum of 5 bucks for a magazine. These e-books, they are charging a minimum of what, 17?

If I'm buying "How to become a millionaire in 48 weeks", and he says, well this product is going to help. I have to question, if the whole point of the information is to sell that product and most of it is made up.
