Starting an online service business...

I am thinking of starting an online service business. I would like to have some input as to which services that might have little light shed upon them and need someone to fill it.
I was thinking about these few areas...

Content Writing/Blog services
Email marketing service
Market research

If you know a service for internet marketers and think there is a need please reply and tell me which ones would do well and the ones that would not.

Any service can do well, you just have to know how to market it well and get the right clients at the same time. Best of luck to you

If I was to start a service for the IM niche, I would focus on Email Marketing Service. From initial setup to building out a full follow up sequence. I notice a recent WSO was offering a service that provide a weekend email you can send to your list to promote a specific product.

The market for internet marketing/site development services is huge. Just about anything from site design to SEO can be sold.

If these are services that you are providing your self, then start with the one you are best at - simples. Building a reputation for quality I believe is paramount.

If you are outsourcing then any one or all will generate customers. Just make sure you are providing quality at all times and you will no doubt succeed.

    Good luck buddy.

Just a random thought based on your question...like, what type of service would I want. Well I think I'd be interested in something where I could give you a niche, and the person provides me 2 original articles in the subject, plus say 7 email auto responder sequence. The key here being that it's a service so I'd expect to own the content and you can't resell it to someone else.

    Just a thought.

      Dunc,

All the services you mentioned have validity . . . all have been tried before . . . all can be developed into a successful business.

      Answer these questions:
      1. Where do your own skills, experience, and expertise lie?
      2. Where is the demand and how strong is it?
      3. How strong and established is the competition for each service?
      4. Are the prospects for this service willing to pay (and pay well)?
      5. What products, information, and systems can you sell into this service?
      6. Is the need recurring? Can you get a client to pay you monthly?
      7. Can you automate certain required tasks?
Do you understand that what I am asking you to do is market research? When you dig into the market and answer these questions (and others) you will begin to see where the demand lies for each different service.

The very best advice I can give you is to sell into the demand that already exists in each of these service areas.

      The best to you,

      Steve

Just pick whatever you like more and go with it, it will sell for sure. Selling services to marketers is not really a big deal. (well, most of them). Good luck!
