Now I know the obvious - to rank in the Search Engines, but what are other ways to get lots of traffic????

Blog Commenting?

I don't know why I'm so stuck on traffic ideas, but I am.

We've actually had good luck running newspaper ads every now and again. We had terrible luck running radio ads (wow that was a dumb idea lol). So maybe trying something offline might be good to think about.

Both article and video marketing still works very good for me.

Ofcourse press releases, if done the right way can give you enough traffic.

Squidoo and Hub Pages are also great for traffic

article marketing, video marketing and press releases have been mentioned, these methods are very good too.

You should also consider social bookmarking and using free viral reports to give away, you can create these quickly and easily from existing PLR products.

    Hope that helps

Try article marketing, social bookmarking (the WSO section has people offering their services), making videos and distributing them through sites.

Interesting concept. You should open a new thread for this site as I'm curious as to what other affiliates have to say about this. I'm pretty new myself and while this sounds appealing, I'm skeptical as to why people would want to visit your 6 Links page and then really check out your webpage in the 15 secs they're forced to see it. Would they really convert? But hey, if it's free it might be worth trying. Let me know in case you join and have any increased sales with it.

That sounds like a great idea. Right now my only source of revenue is from Adsense Ads but if I found a product to endorse I could probably sell it on my site and get more money if I were to run a newspaper advertisement.

How do you do Article Marketing "Right" I mean, I have some idea of it but I've never went really that deep into it for instance:

          1) Post Article on Ezine Articles
          2) Post It on YOUR site
          3) Submit to other Article Directories?
          4) ??????

There are tons of ways to get traffic.

Blog commenting is a good one. Writing articles another good one. Getting free traffic through search engines and organic results - another really good one.

The most important thing about generating traffic is that you find your target audience.

Spend your time generating traffic from where your target audience is as any other type of traffic you will have trouble converting.

For example - find a forum in your niche - join it and add your signature pointing to your site. Then participate in the forum and you should get highly targeted traffic.

something which i learnt only recently but i thought was pretty cool was using reverseCraigsList software. i havnt had a chance to use it just yet but from what i can gather it searches through craigslist for the emails of people who have posted "wanted" ads for a particular topic, and allows you then blast off an email to them, basically offering them what they are looking for! it is not seen as spam becuase you are in effect directly responding to their advert.

so if you sell a weight loss product, i guess you type in that you are searching for all ads from people looking for solutions to their weight problem. i havnt bought the software yet, as i heard about this only 2 days ago, but you'll find a link if you search on google. Beware though, one company offering this software is trying to charge a montly fee of like $199 i think it was - ignore them! search around as another site offers the software for a flat fee of $97 (going by memory but think it was that)

if you cant find it let me know , i probably saved it somewhere and i'll post you the link.

apart from that, yes forums in your niche are a great way to get traffic, get involved, add your opinions, and leave a good signature file there.

using a good 'tell a friend' script will also help - do a goodle search on "free tell a friend script" for some good free resourses here

content sniper (which is free) is another one which i was made aware of a few days back - basically you get notified immediately when an blog is updated in your niche, so you go there and immediately post a useful and complimentary comment to the post - because that post will be straight underneath the main post, it should be seen by everybody else who got news of that blog post, so they will see your post too. (of course you put a subtle link at the end of your post)

there are of course hundreds of ways to get traffic, and im hardly an expert, but hope that helps! i learn most of my stuff from Russell Brunson by the way, he's worth taking a look at.

I post in forums related to my niche. It is very targeted traffic, but it depends on your niche I suppose. Like if your niche is gardening, google gardening forums, sign up on them and post away. Even if they don't allow signature links, most have a private message option. If your information is helpful, they will email you, that is how I am building a list at the moment, because I am not advanced enough to know about auto responders and all of that yet.

Article marketing works best for me.
I have 2 #1 positions in Google through article marketing.

Do it regulary, Google is in great love with quality and unique articles.
So if you don't know how and what to write, outsource the whole thing like i do it.
Articlez.com from Dave Kelly is a great service. A unique article from a native English speaker costs $6, but its worth the money.

    Hi,

There are a million ways to get traffic online..When I started, getting 3 to 10 hits a day would make me jump for joy..But after a while of doing internet marketing, a thousand per day won't even make me smile if it doesn't convert.

I know a lot of people here are obsessed with traffic..A lot of people say when you have the traffic, you'll have the money..But lately I'm beginning to think that it's not so. Quality of content and monetization strategy is still very much the basis for making real cash.

IMO the best thing to do is get targeted traffic. But just to answer your post, here are some of the traffic sources I've been working with.

    1. Forums - The good thing about this is that it's targeted.
    2. Web 2.0 - Everything that's social. You'll just have to work on making connections.
    3. Free Classifieds - Targeted traffic, though you'll have to spend a lot of time. Outsource this.
    4. Manual Traffic Exchange - Don't go for auto surf.
    5. List Building

In all of the above methods, the way to get the most out of it is by leveraging. But
You may know all of the methods to get all the traffic in the world but that won't mean a thing until you actually work on it..What value would you be able to give. Will you be able to make money with it.

I know a way to make a million hits in two to three months on auto-pilot.
In just one method I use, I've made 5k hits in a week. If I leverage this method by automating this I can do a million hits in a month or two.

But I'm not implementing it, you know why?..If I send these people to some crap sites, that will be no good. It will be just like spamming these people..

The best strategy is to focus on your content then on one method and when you've made yourself an expert in that, go to the next.

Without quality content, traffic will just pass you by..

The truth is even if you upload hundreds of videos, it will take some time before it gets discovered...

I always say time and time again that ANYBODY who is internet savvy can get traffic to their sites. It's so ridiculously easy even a braindead moron can do it. Here are some traffic tips:

    1. Social Bookmarking
    2. Pinging
    3. Forum Marketing
    4. Blog Commenting
    5. Yahoo Answers
    6. Article Marketing
    7. Video Marketing
    8. Press Releases
    9. Twitter
    10. Squidoo
    11. Hubpages
    12. Angela's Backlinks

There are some ways you can get it. All too easy. The problem is turning that traffic into what you want (sales, opt-ins, Adsense clicks).

The one thing I learned in my short time doing this(which I think most would agree) is the fact that a perticlar method that may work great for me, may not work for you at all and vice versa, and thats because of the different level of commitment and effort we put towards each method. For example I found that article marketing works better for me since I enjoy doing it and it doesn't bore me, but I can never drive much traffic with social bookmarking. Good luck.

Here is an article I wrote which contains a list of 61 ways to drive traffic to your site
    I Hope it helps.

I don't think you will get more traffic from that method. You can use article submission to bring some direct traffic via high ranking article directories like EzineArticles, Goarticles and at the same time those links will help your site to get some nice backlink juice which will be helpful in SEO wise. That means it will also bring some indirect traffic as well.

Social bookmarking is also another good way. Specially with stumbleupon.

One of my BIGGEST traffic sources is via video marketing.

And before you start thinking video marketing = YouTube, I suggest you don't.

Because there's a whole world outside good ol' YouTube.

Having said that, don't forget to gain traffic via YouTube.
