Problems with webhost

Hello all.

I have a wordpress blog with W3 Total cache installed, I also have Cloudflare CDN installed, and it is STILL loading very slow in every browser that I've tried. I've even tried to access it at a public library to be sure that the problem wasn't my PC's settings.

I contacted my webhost and the tech guy told me that everything was fine - that 4-5 seconds load time was excellent for Wordpress. WTH?! Is this true? Am I expecting too much from a Wordpress blog, or should I try another hosting platform?

BTW, I only have 10 posts on the blog and only 3 plugins.

  • Contact support and insist that you are not getting a good speed. If still they can't help then go and find another hosting provider.
  • 4 second load time is not horrible. However, it is not normal either. Good web hosts can easily hit one or two second load time if the home page is not very content and graphics rich.

      Well, that must be subjective, I suppose? It seems horrible to me. I wouldn't accept that, for my business. Would you?

  • Are you using shared hosting or VPS?
    Contact your web host support to see if they can fix the problem.

    If you are using Shared Hosting, consider upgrading to VPS.
  • Get another web hosting company. These guys probably over loaded their server. Most firms try to cut corners. Hey, it's only money.
