Google provides a free way to do A/B split testing

I know this may be old news to you, but others may benefit from this. I am sending out a solo ad and wanted to split test between two landing pages to see which had the higher opt-in ratio.

To my surprise, I couldn't find any free split testing tool. I don't mind paying for a product that delivers value but I really didn't need or want all the bells & whistles that comes with these packages. I simply wanted to provide two URL's that get randomly rotated and track which one gets the most clicks.

Turns out you can do this with Google Analytics. It does require you to insert some JS into your page, but you can easily do this in Wordpress. Then, when a visitor hits your URL-A, Google will decide to serve up either URL-A, or URL-B.

I created two different email lists so the opt-in from URL-A or URL-B will go into their own distinct list.

Very convenient for straightforward split testing.

Hope it helps others.
