Keyword importance - EzineArticles

As anyone will know, when you publish an article at EZA, you enter in a list of keywords .

What is your take on the importance of these keywords.

In your article you want to use your keyword, so what weight does the keywords play in anything?

Thanks
Dean

The list of keywords are the keywords, that are most related to the keywords in your title. Fill in 5 to 9 keywords. The first 3 words in your title should be keyword rich.

Please keep in mind, that the search engines give heavier heavy weight to the first 3-5 keywords of your keywordlist.

Do these keywords have the same weight as the use of your main keyword in the actual article? If the article is centered around your keyword, what would be the point of additional keywords?

I put more time in researching my title and as above ccprosell said the keywords should be in your title. I spend more time on that than actually writint the article itself and I have had my articles get ranked above the person that I am actually an affiliate for, so there must be something to it or either I am just lucky. So I am no expert, still very new, but my guess is yes very important.

I am not sure of the hows and whys, I just do what I was told and know it works. I put the keywords in my title, then add the keywords in the box and then I splash all of the keywords around in my article and underline or put some of them in bold. After a few days after my article is published I search google for the what I have put in bold and for some reason, I can always find my articles on the first pages of google using the different keywords. For the life of me I don't understand how this works, and if I am nuts and off base here, someone please correct me. I am open to suggestions and if I am quoting something wrong, I want to be corrected. I am here to learn.

Bolding/underlining is interesting - anyone see this as a way to get noticed by Google?

If you're talking about the metakw - it means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I'm talking after 300 articles and 50,000 views.
I've seen one article ranking on first page of google for ****-Nicholas Perricone something with a metakw for internet marketing.
    Sorry to disappoint ya!

My thoughts on it is that regardless if it makes a difference or not, it only takes me a few seconds, so why not. Who know that in 6 months down the road Google makes another change to their coding and these types of keywords works like gangbusters.

If it's there, I say use them. Obviously the only true way to tell is to test it for yourself. Do a few articles with keywords, do a few without, test the results of both and see if there is a noticeable difference.

I'm no expert but your keywords should be concentrated on your main title and the first seven lines/first paragraph of any written article.
