How I Doubled The Responsiveness Of My Subscribers

Hi Warriors

I launched a new IM list a few months ago, and my click-thru % is twice as high for this list compared with my other internet marketing subscribers - and I believe the reason for this to be the first email I send out in the AR sequence.

The first email builds rapport, and gathers some valuable market research data.

In fact I just had a new subscriber email me this:

"Hi James,

You sure do have a warm, friendly approach that builds rapport quickly."

Here's the email I send:

=============================
Hi {!firstname_fix}, I want to hear from you! (+ a free gift!)

Hey {!firstname_fix},

Once more, thanks very much for subscribing.

I'm delighted to have you here with us.

I've included a free report at the end of this
email just as a thanks for opening up. In fact,
you'll find I include a freebie in virtually
every email I send out.

Let me tell you a bit about me (don't worry, I'll
try not to bore you with my whole life story

I'm a 19 year old student from the UK studying
Psychology at the University of Kent. I earn a
full time income from the comfort of my own room
at university.

I absolutely LOVE marketing online, especially
in niche markets and love teaching people how to
replicate my success even more.

I get a weird kick out of watching my subscribers
succeed, and now you are one of my valued subscribers
and I'd love to get that kick out of watching you
succeed.

So, if you ever need a hand in your business, just
send me an email to EMAIL REMOVED and
I'll get back to you giving you the best help I
possibly can.

Anyway, enough about me. I'd love it if you emailed
me letting me know about yourself.

In fact, I've prepared a few questions so I can get
to know you better.

1. How long have you been marketing online?

2. What stage are you currently at?

3. Have you got your own website, product or list
of subscribers?

4. What would you most like to learn about?

5. What do you most struggle with?

6. What did you think of the free report you
subscribed to receive Accelerated Niche Profits?

7. What would you like future emails to include?

Just hit 'Reply' and let me know your answers.

Don't feel like you have to answer every
question.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, though.

I've got some great content coming up in the
next few weeks!

Stay tuned, {!firstname_fix}!

This could be the most valuable subscription of
your life.

And just as a thanks for reading this email,
here's a free report called Niche Domination:

LINK REMOVED

(I have plenty more freebies lined up for you
over the next few weeks and months so stay
tuned.

Talk to you soon,
James Penn

A few things I do there:

- Share some personal details about my life

- Gather some valuable market research

- Inform the subscriber that there will be a freebie in most future emails I send out (which is true) which will send my open rate soaring.

Plus, when a subscriber emails me with their answers, I send them a short thank you email just so they know that there's someone at the end of that email. It further strengthens the relationship.

Anyway, I hope this has helped some of you.

James

That's a good email. I send out something similar in my "welcome email." I talk a lot about myself, my struggles and how I'm going to help my new subscribers with free tips in upcoming emails.

After this, I give a TON of stuff away in a series of 10 or so emails. I get thank you's, friend requests, online gifts, etc all the time. I even once got an "online beer" from a subscriber. Didn't know that existed.

Anyway, it definitely helps to build relationships.

James - you could automate the data collection by setting up a Google Form (in google docs & spreadsheets), and then include the link to the "survey" in your message. It's an incredible feature and I'm just looking at how to incorporate it now so that I can collect data on what's stopping my customers from buying my audio course.
