Been on this forum for a while and often have questions so here is another one, when shopping for any how to stuff for internet marketing how do you decide who to trust.

When I got started about 5 years ago I knew nothing at all about internet marketing and searched for information. I finely signed up for a course or whatever you want to call it at the amazing price of 97 dollars a month.

What a surprise since everything I see now a days is the same price, anyhow I learned a lot from the course and since I knew nothing it was a big help but as I grew more knowledgeable I realized there were pieces in the course that were missing. So I canceled the course and spent the next few years finding free information and learning more and getting better as this.

However I sill seem to be missing a few pieces of the puzzle to where I can make good money not just what I am making now. I have watched many webinars to learn more but of course I had to give my e-mail address and now I get bombarded from about 6 different people about every week trying to sell me someone elses idea of the next big thing in internet marketing.

So my big question is how do we sift through all the crap to find someone who truly knows what they are doing and can teach you the last few pieces of the puzzle. From all the people I have written to in forums this seems to be common to sell us a plan and leave out important pieces.

The program I bought into years ago his slogan was we have everything you will ever need to learn and make money. But 5 months into this program I get an e-mail from them saying buy this other stuff now, I contacted them asking if the program says I will get all the information I will ever need here and will never need to buy anything else shouldn't I be getting it for free.

Of course they didn't see it that way. So as I said what do we do if we can't figure out the last puzzle pieces. This is a great place and learn a lot here but there is only so much people here are tilling to tell others.

One of the many things I like about this forum is they never send out sales e-mails like some of the others do.

I also got an e-mail about a month ago from click bank selling there own version of how to make money on the internet.

How do you decide.

Well the only advice i can give you really is if you have learned a method in a course, just try it out and test it. If it doesn' work, you gained experience, if it works then you can scale it.

I agree, some courses leave things out, that's just a fact, but as i see it, that's a great opportunity because it leaves room for putting your own twist to it. If you want to be told in detail about what to do exactly with every single step, then a coaching program might be the best solution.

The best you can do is watch, listen, observe what's going on. There are clues all around.

Talk to people who are students in a particular program and see how they're doing. If you want to make a guru mad, ask him for the names of his top earning 20 students. You'll be lucky to get any names; maybe he'll give you one or two.

Find a mentor, if that's what it takes. Look for someone successful in the market you want to enter.

Focus on learning one particular business model and approach. No one is good at everything. If you want to do affiliate marketing, find a top affiliate. If you want a membership site, find someone that is running a very successful one.

Nearly all of your own success will depend upon you. Just because you have a coach, mentor, or guru teaching you is no guarantee of your own success. Most IMers don't have the patience, persistence, and creativity to make a business work for them full time.

Well here's my take and I'm sure it will ruffle some feathers.
I also started to try to get going in this business a few years ago and with all the effort I put in and money spent only to make a very small amount of money.

What I am finding out is the people who make money in this biz are the ones who sell you on making money. For instance I am on some so called "gurus" mailing lists and I find it interesting that they all try to sell me the same products the same day or day after. After watching this for a while I have come to that conclusion that most of the people making money doing this are just looking for suckers to buy a product on how to make money online.
Before you all bash me I know their are some legit ways to make money online out there but most of the selling of shiney objects is BS .

You would be better putting your money in a mason jar than giving it to some of these cons that are out there.
So throw the stones and remember sometimes the truth hurts.

  • One thing I can suggest to you is observing.

That is one example about traffic.

You may listen to what they say, don't do it.

    See what they do.

    That is all about experience.

    It is like school.

They make many mistakes to put together a textbook.

Nobody is going to teach you for free.

I think you can learn it by yourself with all the method.

Try all the stuffs that doesn't work, the one that work is the remaining.

See what they do, you may find out the answer.

Many discoveries are from accident so you may have an accident.

    I had one.

    Just because of checking girls.

    That is about it.

It is really nice that you post this.

I think you can make some connection from here.

So, if you like to make connection with me, add me to your contact.

PM me with your new thread, I will help you.

Trust nobody until you're able to build working relationships with them. Even then, proceed with caution. As far as knowing what to buy, you can only read so much about IM before you start seeing the same stuff over and over and over again.

The pieces of the puzzle you're missing are the pieces most marketers aren't going to hand out. They're trying to sell products and then they'll try to upsell you once you've purchased those products. Instead of trying to learn from what people are saying and selling, start watching what the leaders in the industry you're trying to break into are doing. That's where the real money is.

It's hard to find someone you can trust online because, some people are really good at building trust, but once they get your money they begin to show a different side of themselves.

Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands. Don't depend on anybody for your success. If you can't find somebody to teach you what you want to know, then you can always learn from trial and error.

It took me some time before I was able to find somebody that I could trust as a mentor, but I don't depend on him or anyone else for my success. I'm always willing to fail and do things on my own if necessary.

When I just started out, I looked for two things in choosing a mentor to follow:

Proof (verifiable) and Testimonials (real, verifiable)

However, any Joe can photoshop a scribbled check and block out names. Any Joe can create Facebook profiles for self-testimonials.

So I learned to look for transparency. The guy who connected the dots and did stuff live. Real stuff. Not demos. Not theory. Honest to God real client/affiliate/whatever work....and answered the hard questions....live.

Find that, you find the real deal you can take to the bank.

Don't trust any of them! They want your money. As the old saying goes 'Those who can't do, teach!'. In the gold rush the only people who made real money were the shovel and pan sellers not the prospectors. It's the same in the IM world.

My question has always been - if they are so good at making money online from their websites, how do they find the time and effort to put together all these offers? And they never ever give you any details of their non IM business that is allegedly making money.

Running million $ businesses must be a full time job no?

Or maybe I'm old, bitter and cynical - who knows?

Once you understand some of the basic principles you learn by doing.
Most common mistake I see here is people thinking someone can sell you a course or give you information that will make you successful. The ONLY thing that will make you successful is taking action. There is no perfect plan and even if there was just because it worked for one guy does not mean it will work for you. If anyone is on here for 6+ months with the intention of making money and does not make any money then really there intention is NOT to make money but to make money a very specific way that is easy, guaranteed and comfortable for them.
Lets face it if people just wanted to make money online they could find work in a few hours on any of hundreds of directory classifieds and do some work for someone that knows less than them. If you have been on here for months and have bought and read courses etc.. you already know more about internet marketing than 98% of the population of the world.
