Making $400 a month as a Freelancer

Was wondering if it's possible for me to make 400 a month as a freelancer.
i can do seo work , video intros using templates, write articles in good english. se nuke blasts. Also willing to learn some other things which can be done in 2 weeks for example.

Many have mentioned Fiverr but with $4 net per gig does not seem like this is possible. Also heard horror stories of Fiverr closing accounts without pay without legit reasons.

Is Craigslist a better place for this for instance?

    Something you can do is repost the same gigs to multiple gig sites, not just Fiverr. You can post the same gig on SEOClerks and every other Fiverr clone out there - perhaps make them a little more expensive there if you believe the price matches the service.

    I make over $2,000 a month as a freelancer working on PeoplePerHour, Elance, Freelancer etc...

    I avoid fiverr, because its just not worth my time. I charge my clients $40+ per hour for my designs.
    Once you have a solid portfolio start charging people more rather than $5.

    I used to make $2,000-$3,000+ per month from iWriter alone.

    This doesn't even include my writing on other websites.

    Trust me, if you have the ability to provide quality work, go for it. It doesn't even matter what it is you're selling. The truth of the matter is that you can make big cash if you work at it as a freelancer.

    Fiverr is a good place to begin, but it is true that you can always venture out into other places to earn more money.

    I make $1000 a month part time freelancing, however I do website design mainly the tips still apply.

    * Avoid fiverr IMO, they are not the clients you want. oDesk is ok.
    * Be the brand. You are selling yourself not so much your product.
    * NEVER compete on price! You will always lose. Don't be afraid to charge people what you are worth.
    * Create a website promoting yourself. Think of this as an online Business Card - it should have your portfolio listing jobs you have done.
    * Create social accounts - FB, Google ples etc (not too many just the major ones) Be active on them. Word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertising (for good or bad).
    * Be the best you can be at what you do
    * Be honest always

    You can do better than $400/mo. You said you do SEO work. Why don't you just starting creating your own SEO business? I mean work on small businesses first then on to the big ones. You'll be earning thousands by the end of the year. Just go for it, you have the internet at your disposal, make us of it and learn more.

    thanks for all of your suggestions. i was thinking of offering video editing services and video intros, video logo intros using adobe after effects and adobe premiere for editing. this i can do now. do you guys think there is enough demand for this to make my $400 a month within 30 days? what about payment, i assume most will be paypal?

      If you're confident in your skill, then you got something to offer your clients. I'm not vouching much for Fiverr, but personally, its a great place to start. I mean, you can offer something cheap to build up your portfolio and reviews.

      Eventually, that will help your reputation and you'll reach your goal, possibly more even.

    1. It is extremely possible, and if you're putting serious effort into it I would say that you should be able to make MUCH more than that.
    2. I would personally shy away from the low paid bid sites and Craigslist. They can be part of your marketing arsenal, but don't make them the only way you find jobs, particularly because the vast majority of jobs pay extremely little. I would focus on building relationships with individuals and offering your services to them for a decent price, and let the Odesk/Elance/Craigslist be the backup.

      Actually SEO is a lot of money if you know how to do it. Some people make hundreds and hundreds just fishing out good quality expiring domains to resell for PR networks. You can do that.

    Elance, Odesk, Freelancer, Guru are great sites to Make Money Online. However, depending on us (skills, time, etc) and competttion with other bidders, so for beginners is harder to can make money.

    I'm trying to search about 1000+ websites to make money online. )
