Hi All

I'm currently working on a site within the mums fitness niche.

The domain i have is quite generic for the health and fitness niche, so, I am wondering if I best to carry on a build my site using this this domain or pick one that fits my niche better and maybe includes something to do with mums fitness...

My initial thought when i bought the none focused domain is that i could build the site into other fitness niches eventually.

After reading online I don't know if this is the best thing to do as I can see myself spending a long time trying to build my authority within the mums fitness niche

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

J

So, you do not have a plan??

I would make a plan first and then worry about the domain, you can always get a domain for 10 bucks

I have the plan and the content, lead magnets, downloadable products, email series etc all wrote, I'm pretty much ready to go live with the site it is nearly all built on the existing domain.

I just wanted to know before I go live if people thought it would be better to purchase a domain that fits my niche better.

what would be best: afitnesswebsite.com or fitnessformums.com or does it not matter

      Thanks

Well be aware about the google exact match algorithm.

In my opinion if you are trying to go big then a generic domain will do fine

      That's history.

Google no longer gives SEO "bonuses" for EMD's. There are things to think about, here (and EMD's can have advantages other than SEO advantages), but that doesn't arise: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post9373686

Do some keyword research and choose a keyword rich domain, but only do it if you don't have much content or visitors on your current domain
