What's Your Input For Product Creation Ideas

I want to start setting up some websites and create my own products, so my question is what is your input on tools, websites or resources to come up with product ideas.

I've started with researching forums and looking at frequently asked questions for topic ideas.

  • When it comes to product creation people are looking for convenience. Most of the time the answers to peoples question can be answered online already with a little research. Your job as a product creator is to make it very convenient for them to get the answers they are looking for in a concise clear method.

So here is how you come up with ideas:

What are the biggest challenges facing your niche?
    What do they struggle with?
    What is holding them back?
What do they need to overcome?

Start there and list those items out off of the top of your head.

Next go to forums as you mentioned and analyze the questions being asked. Often times newbies seeking help will go to the main general thread of the forum and ask their questions. this can be a great place to pick up a ton of product ideas.

Now analyze your competition. What types of products is your competition promoting. This can give you ideas of what you might consider creating.

Research your niche in affiliate market places such as Amazon and Clickbank. What products exist in your niche? Look for popular items with a lot of feedback.

Look at product reviews and see what comments people have. Take note of both the good and bad feedback. This can give you a ton of valuable information when you go to create your own product. You will know exactly what people liked and what people thought were missing.

This should get you a start.

    • Agree 100%.

When you are creating the product...you can format it in a step- by-step format.

Other quick ways to create products ..is to interview other experts and get them to answer the questions you found.

    • Everything else you said already was great, but thiss beginning really set you up well. And I believe in this completely.

Your goal is not to reveal some super big secret, ( but if it is, great)....the key is to know that you could show them how to do something EASILY and successfully without the confusing information.

Let's take a look for a moment into the idea behind weight loss:

Why do you think there are so many amazing products on Clickbank that sell weight loss or muscle building products?

They sell because they show how to lose weight, gain muscle.....in a simpler manner.....this makes it easy on the readers because they don't have to guess what workouts to do, so all the products there showcase what to do to get an effective workout.

    • Great reply. Use what is already out there to find ways to improve your own product.
    • This is very well-put. I would start by answering those questions first. Try building a following off of freebies or asking around the forum for what people are struggling with. Another idea is to check top selling products and see what is selling. If it sells, it is addressing a problem well.

  • It all depends upon the market you're going to be selling to. If you're going to be selling into a technical market, for example, programmers or technicians, the tools-websites-resources are going to be very different from those that will give you possible product ideas for scrapbookers.

Go to the forums, the niche magazines, the hub and authority sites that are specific to your market . . . the places that would interest your prospects . . . that's where you're going to find niche participants talking about their needs and desires.

But it's impossible to give you specifics when we have no idea about your niche.

  • Well, I guess before you can implement some of the above suggestions, you will need to research a niche for yourself. Look for problem statements; look for areas that you have a interest in (it is easier that way); look for what people are searching for. For starters pick a niche with less competition.
  • I want to actually help people when I sell products though I see so many people and products out there that don't really text some products just give the kind of this is what you need to do but not how to do it.

I think it would be better overall to create a product that takes buyers through from start to finish so they don't have to go elsewhere to fill in the blanks.
  • You have to know this yourself before you can teach others. That's why so many products are lacking vital information. They are thrown together by the "just create a product" crowd.

    • I totally agree with you but what I was getting at was I have bought products in the past one was an seo product basic short report like you need to do seo to get ranked use meta tags, meta description etc but nothing about what they are our what to write in them etc, i know this is a basic example but showd what I mean.

Just basic you need this and that but no actionable steps.

This is what I'm getting at

    • This is it. Look at what you know, what you are passionate about, and what interests you. It will be difficult for you to truly help people if you have no clue about the niche you are creating a product for. Think about your own knowledge, and let that be your starting point for a helpful "start to finish" product.
