What does it means
#optin #page
  • It's the page you use to collect email addresses from visitors in order to get them on your email list. Some people also call these “squeeze” pages. Your optin page usually has a box (form) so that people can enter their name and/or email address.

    What an optin is.

It's on the first page of a website and can be a:
    1. Email address submit
    2. Zip Submit
    3. Full Contact Details
    4. Short Contact Details
    5. Mobile Number

    It does a few things:
    1. Makes a resellable lead more valuable.
    2. Affiliates are paid for first page submits, also known as soft leads, they show interest in a product and are a lesser payout than a normal lead
    3. Collects email addresses to then send automated emails to in order to create lead rappor even if they ditch your website

Its basically a one page website used for the single purpose of getting someone to opt in usually with their email address so they become a lead you can then follow up with and sell your product or service too.

Call me pedantic, but that's (nearly) a definition of a "squeeze page", not an "opt-in page".

The two terms are not synonymous. A "squeeze page" is one specific type of opt-in page. My own opt-in pages are nothing like that, at all.

This post may help the OP (it defines a few of these things): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7866952

An opt in page is basically a page that will collect your email in return for a freebie. Just be careful of how many pages you opt in too because you might start getting way too many emails in your inbox.

If you check out most people's signature on the Warrior Forum chances are it's an opt-in page. It simple means a page where the visitor is directed to "opt-in" or fill in their email for a certain benefit.

And, opt in pages are the best way to secure a visitor's name and email address which allows you to contact that person later. If you are having thousands visit a site monthly and no one is opting in, then you are not really building an audience, just stimulating traffic. And, this type of one off traffic is sure to die down after awhile. Opt ins and building a subscriber list is always best.

an Opt In Page is the beginning of a more direct relationship between you and a visitor to your content.

You can have opt in pages on your site, on others, on Facebook, all over the place.
The point someone opt' in to your list is the start of your direct communication with them.

Here you can educate, share, ask and discover, assist and even sell.

It's a page with a form on it where you are asked to enter your name or email in return for something. Then you get emails from people selling you stuff.

I always use a throwaway/disposable email which lasts 10 minutes when opting in to any list.

I wouldn't worry too much about the terminology. Landing page, squeeze page, opt-in page etc it might get a bit confusing.

The more important thing to think about is what your desired result is from sending traffic to that page.

I am sure the poster is likely talking about a squeeze page . The terminologies are sometimes used interchangeably.

it is basically a page where you offer something for free (information or even a bonus) to people who can enter their email address (and any other other information) to download it (or get your offer).

In the process the become a subscriber or lead (prospect).

It is used to build a list of subscribers .

Well, maybe. I thought it might be helpful to him to appreciate that a squeeze-page is actually just one specific type of opt-in page, and that there are many others.

They are, indeed ... (sometimes annoyingly, and sometimes by people who should know better), andt that's part of the reason why people don't appreciate the differences, and commonly think they're using a squeeze-page and sometimes start off threads here saying "Please tell me what you think of my squeeze-page" and when you look, it isn't actually a squeeze-page at all ... and sometimes in circumstances in which it would actually help them to understand the differences, because they're sitting there wondering why their opt-in rate isn't higher ... ("just saying" ).

However, it was perhaps pedantic of me to point it out in this context, and I agree with you that in this instance, the OP probably meant "squeeze-page" when he said "opt-in page".
