Hi my name is Alvin and I am a full time blogger. I blog very actively at Make Money Online with GatherSuccess and I was wondering are there any other marketers here who blog too?

    • I actually started a blog a few days ago....cuz I got sick of my posts gettin' deleted on this joint...for reasons still not even clear to the wise guy here.

      Not just posts...but entire threads vanishing like my bank account in divorce number 2...and it aint fair to the poor ******* who shouldn't have to suffer for my sins...to have their threads yanked just cuz I decide to post some honest, content rich gold.

      But why fight the machine? When you can go another direction?

      So rather then turnin' into the quintessential sheep, lemmings, victim et al....(which I despise)...I went proactive.....

      My fans expect Vegas Vince live and uncensored and delivered in a brown paper bag!

      So a couple nights ago...I started:

      Vegas Vince: Life and Marketing Behind the 8-Ball


      It's the only blog on the net where we slaughter sheep and lemmings for fun and profit...minus any guilt....and minus any censor button controlled by people who have way too much time on their hands. Ya think?

      I'm going to attempt to repost and recreate all my posts that get deleted here....and repost them over there as needed...along with a lot of other original sales and marketing street smart stuff.

      Nothing is for sale on my blog.....so hopefully this thread wont end up like most of the others I bother with...swimmin' with lead boots in some great ocean abyss.

      How she powers her computer is another thing that shazes and amazes me...cuz I wasn't aware they had power there??? So again...Rachel...has managed to trump time, space, and modern eletricity..and that makes this chick cool in my book.

      What's more inspiring..... Rachel GoodGirl....I must confess... can actually write pretty good prose... too.

    you land on it there's all kind of banners and ads coming at you like
    a bat out of hell...

    Is there a reason for all the banners and ads all sort of congested
    in one main area?

    • Ya know, I used to think that blogging was kinda corny, silly, and sometimes downright strange.

      But then I started playing with Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, etc. and the bug bit. Nowadays I use Wordpress for everything - I'm pretty sure that I've even got a coffeemaker around here somewhere that uses Wordpress .

      I am thinking of having a theme reworked possibly on elance and then promoting.

      A part of me wants to keep the theme simple - not flashy!

  • I have two blogs one gets updated quite frequently, and is mostly about my hobbies, some major geekage. And the other not so much...
  • Ive always overlooked blogging as ive never had time to use them
    but i made one with squidoo about 2 weeks ago and im now ranked 184 out of thousands at the time of writing this so not a bad result

    ive just used some social bookmarking techniques that i know of etc and ive shot right up in the rankings so its a good start at least

    • I have a blog but I mainly started it as place where people can get to know me better and come read my thoughts on something inspirational, motivational, or sometimes just whatever. Of course I also have links to businesses I do but I don't plan on spending alot of time trying to "sell" to people.

      I don't know about anyone else but I will seldom buy something or join someone's network marketing business wihtout getting to know them a bit better and it may just be thru their blog or newsletter or ezine that I do that.

      I sometimes wonder if it would be best to have two or three separate blogs. Like one for network markekting, one for inspirational/motivational, and one for natural health (another interest of mine). So far I'm only doing the one because I think it would be too time consuming for me to maintain 2 or 3.

  • Yes, I blog. One so far but it is syndicated. I have a food blog (it's just started). Used to think that it would be hard to maintain but actually not too bad (risk now is that it is a stream of consciousness sort of this. Great way of adding content to your website and personalising it. BTW have you tried Twitter...

    • One thing we should all realise about blogging;-

      If you use free blogs like Wordpress or Blogspot, remember that they can vanish in an instant for no apparent reason to you.

      Google with Blogspot are usually helpful and will put your blog back up again after discussion.
      Wordpress however, have a different policy. No discussion. Their word is final. Your account is suspended indefinitely.

      So it is always ESSENTIAL that every post you make, you keep a copy of it in a notebook or word file on your computer so that you can 'rise again like a pheonix' if the worst happens.

      Just a thought. :-)

Is it just a way to get your personal opinions about things out on the internet for everyone to see? I would very much like to know what people that blog really think about it and basically Why you do it. Im interested. Because I think, if I get an answer that speaks to me enouph, It might change my mind on the whole idea around Blogging.

    • Well for me it started as just a way for people to get to know me. Being invloved in network marketing, I thought it would be a good idea. I don't know about anyone else but I will seldom buy from someone or join their business just based on an ad. I would kind of like to know a little about them. So now I will usually include a link to my blog in most of my advertising.

      But my blog is also about motivation/inspiration and sharing my thoughts, ideas, and resources. Instead of just keeping these things to myself by writing them in a paper journal, I can share them with others. I don't think a whole lot of people read it but maybe even if one or two here and there find something useful it was worth the trouble of me putting it out there.

    • For me, a blog is nothing more than an alternative website, I treat them as such... it's a website on a different platform that Google likes better than conventional websites.

      And I dispute the claims of others to the effect of "it's gotta be on your own domain or it's not good enough"

    Blogs have many purposes. It depends on the goals of the blog owner.

    Blogs are no longer just personal online journals of expressions.

    A blog can be used to connect an offline business with their current online audience and to give their audience information, special announcements, promotions, customer surveys etc.

    A blog can be used to connect an online business with their prospective customers and give valuable "how to" information to visitors. A blog can help a blog owner to get interested targeted traffic and to build a list.   • Thank you justgr8, that was actually an answer that made sense. I guess I can understand wanting to know something about a person before doing business with them. You kind of do that in real life with people like doctors and other services, you want a bit of background to make a decision on if working with a person. So thank you, that answer was informative and made sense.

    I blogged, but after i had sent around 1000 hops of natural traffic after a month, i had no sales from that product. But, to be fair it was a horrible product, pity i took a week to build my blog up! I think blogging is great to get natural traffic, much faster than a static webpage!
