I'm not 100% on this but I am sure you could put videos on a website of your own so when customers purchase they are redirected to your Thank you page where they can watch them online and an optional download link.

For me personally I prefer videos I can watch online, however I'm sure it would vary as everyone has different broadband speeds. Plus another point to note what if a customer uses somebody else's computer or even a library computer and they can't download,?

Just a point to make note of I'm sure there's not many out there but just incase.

I've downloaded many video files larger than 97 Meg. For most people with broadband, this size is not a problem. You can decrease the size by compressing it. The one I use is Handbrake, which creates MP4 and MKV files. The site for this open source (as in free) video transcoder is Handbrake.fr (The fr is for France, but the site is in English.)

What video format is it in right now? Is it WMV, AVI? If so, get a good converter and convert the file into flash format (SWF or FLV). This will do the trick for you - and people get to view it "live streaming", instead of first having to download a 90MB file to their desktop.

We did a WSO and I believe the file was just over 1 GIG. About 10x your 97mb.
Never had a complaint yet. Some of our file packages are even 2GIG and up.

I guess it all depends on what your customers expect? If you are promoting a product that is going to be on video, then your audience can't possibly expect it to be the file size of a PDF? So dont' worry too much about customers "hesitating to download". If they do, then you have the wrong audience for your product.

WSO buyers are predominantly from countries where file size is not an issue. I purchased and sold some WSOS where video files were not downloadable. They were embedded inside a membership site.

Never had or heard issues with video file size.

If your product is a video tutorial such as a case study, just put it on the thank you page..
For me, when I purchased a video product such as this one, I prefer to watch it.. Never download any of them.. They just wasting my hard-drive storage..

What I'm gonna do is bookmark the download page, create a simple notepad file contains all the details for the product, and save it on my computer.. I do this for all products that I purchased.. I think that's what many people are doing with a video product

If it's a video that your customers can use to resell it, then you need to put a download link..

Is that 97mb one file or multiple? If it is just one, can you break it down into multiple files?
How long is the video and what resolution is it at?

I would put it on a secured Thank You page (membership page, etc.) and allow your customers to either login and watch the video there, or they can download the video.

If you're using Wordpress, you can start off with S2member (free) if the funds are tight, or go for a paid program (such as MemberRocket, Wishlist, S2member paid version, and more).

Also, I would look around and check for tutorials on how to shrink a video size on Handbrake. I just created a video file a couple of days ago that was over 200mb and I was able to shrink it to 33mb following the instructions from a video I saw on YouTube. However, I originally was only able to shrink it to shrink it to around 86mb. Check out this video for the best settings to shrink your video size without sacrificing quality...

      Good luck on your WSO.

    Much ado about nothing.

97 MB is not a big video file. And if it's the only deliverable, that's barely a blip on the radar.

I sell stuff that gets into the GIGABYTES of downloadable video and nobody blinks.

In fact, when we tested downloads versus physical delivery, they wanted instant download access to 6 GB instead of 2 DVD's by a landslide.

Congratulations OP for actually thinking about your customers who have a very slow internet connection.

Those folks saying making it Gigabyte-size obviously live in places where Broadband speed is super fast, and they have never had to download large files on a connection only about ten times faster than a dial-up modem.

As an example, Windows 8 has an upgrade available (8.1) where I am that is a TEN HOUR download, it's free, but its not going to happen!

If you can OP, make your files no bigger than about 40-50 Meg by splitting them into several parts, your customers will love you for it!

I wholesaled lots of PLR, MMR stuff here for a couple of years. Sometimes they'd be 3 - 4GB total. I broke them into 200 - 300MB downloads and never had a problem.

i have downloaded products from 1mb to almost 600mb... Shouldn't hurt to much.

If not just upload them onto a video site, make it private and embed it onto your site or onto a locked subdomain?

Yeah that file is pretty small in the grand scheme of things. List it as is. You shouldn't have much to worry about.
