Too many BackLinks = spam?

I'm sending my blog links to various search engines/directory submission and also creating manually backlinks on tumblr, reddit etc of my wordpress blog. Now, I'd ask if posting too many backlinks would be marked as spam by Google. I mean, if I copy many links and articles that redirect to my blog and start spamming on blogs, and web can be harm my blog and get a ban from Google? My articles on my blog are interesting and getting around 200-300 visits per day, so If I don't spam much around I think I can be safe.

It usually depends what sort of backlinks they are.

Backlinks on quality, relevant sites, that don't look "bought" or "automated" should be ok. Quality and relevance are far more important than just "numbers of backlinks".

Ok thanks, yeah my links are made manually and sharing quality articles giving people what they want, not spammy links, so I think it should be ok, my niche blog gives tutorials about computer and internet.

      "Manually" is good.

"Sharing quality articles" can still be bad, if you're sharing links to them (or articles with links attached) on too many sites not relevant to yours. Too much of that (e.g. in multiple article directories) can get you penalized by those Penguin updates for what Google calls "overoptimization". Backlinks should be from relevant sites.

If you hear people talking about "link diversity" as a way of promoting or excusing crappy backlinks from non-relevant sites, it's fine to throw rotting fruit at them ... and I'll even provide the fruit, if you want.

I wouldn't overdo it yourself if i was you. See the thing is that google wants other people to link to your blog, and that's how their algorythm determins the value of you content.

So instead of backlinking yourself, you could encourage other people to share your blog and that will definately improve your results. And if you have a couple of hundred visitors a day that shouldn't be a problem.

Well, I strongly believe that depends on the relevancy, quality, etc. But, I believe that few quality and relevant backlinks are better than hundreds of spammy backlinks

It depends on the source of the backlinks and how fast you are receiving them.

It all depends on what kind of back links you are getting. Prefer quality over quantity in building back links.

Good quality links are always welcome. It should never look too spamy or too fast.

Creating more backlinks is not bad. But you should submit your article and links to blacklisted directories. Yes there are some directory which are blacklisted, creating backlink on them can cause -ve effect.

Just be-careful not to do a link scheme network, I have heard that too many back links can cause bad ranking . Then it would involve some OSE and Majestic to dig in.

    Quality over quantity.
If 50,000 high authority blogs share your content as a guest post it is not that harmful,
but 50,000 low quality blog comments are suspicious.
