INTERNET MARKETING

Does anyone know where online I can get free images, stock photos, etc. that I could use for my blog?

I have tried Flickr but most of the pictures that I've seen there have a copyright with all rights reserved. I could only find two sets of pictures that allowed you to use them but they were specific in stating that the images could not be used for commercial use. Well, I offer the opportunity to click on affiliate links in my blog so that would not work too well.

I would really appreciate any help that I can get.

  Here's a direct link to the public domain pictures. You might still have to provide a link back to Pixelbay for their usage. Check the TOS of the site.

Yep. Pixabay is the best. Decent selection, and the "rights" are very clear; 100% free for commercial use, no loopholes or shenanigans.

(99.99% of other services have ridiculous and ambiguous license rights, so pixabay is worth gold).

I've had this question before and I know the struggle. I recommend using "morguefile". It's an entirely free stock photo search engine. You'll find a great collection of photos to use and they are updating all the time.

The only downside is some of the photos are really old. It's to a point where it just depends on what your searching to find something that looks "Modern". I hope this helps and good luck!

Even better, Pixabay also has a WordPress plugin that allows you to insert the images right into the post (assuming you're a WordPress user, that is.)

use the creative commons search engine.

you can sort by rights and it covers a ton of websites in one

With Flickr, just sent people a PM and ask them if you can use it, many will let you. They just have a copyright on it so they still have some amount of control over where their images are going and what happens to them.

Do a google advanced search for free images, including commercial use.

Deviantart might be good, same as with Flickr applies.

Creative commons is ideal, you don't even have to get a permission.

Finally, if you are ready to pay a couple of bucks, that often is the better solution.

I have heard that morguefile is tricky, because you don't know if the people who uploaded the images own the rights to them.

various categories.

freeimages.com is the same thing as sxc.hu. I guess they're finally trying to make they're web URL make sense. LoL

I use Getty editorial images. Those are great with an embed that is ready to go. All you do is cut and paste HTML code right into your blog and viola there you are. Do not use it for commercial purposes. However, if you have a FREE blog it works great and will save you a lot of money. Best part about Getty is the search engine. It has 45 million pro pics.

Google images is a good source of images but some of them are protected by copyright so I use openphoto.net instead.

I agree with gcb; freedigitalphotos.net does the trick for me, although I almost always use my travel photos these days....I do use FDP's images for my freelance clients.
