Can I get some help with a direction please?

I know thats a general question but Im new and I have been doing tons of research but have yet to really understand what path to take first. Here is what I have to offer

I have a website with an ebook to sell. I use the term "ebook" loosely because its a 40 page informational manual type thing. Not really sure what to call it. The website has been up and running for 3 years and has many visitors but no sales of the ebook. Based on recent twitter traffic there is huge interest in the information and the services so Im not sure why its not selling. It is a real estate development site. It is my husbands site and he is the expert on the services and he wrote the 40 page info book himself. He has 2 full time jobs so I am trying to help him launch this site and sell this product. Any advice would be helpful. The site is a godaddy site if that means anything. Im wondering if I should promote his info for sale through clickbank or start a blog that leads to the page?

I also dabble with sales on ebay and got started out of desperation and sold pretty much anything from our home that could be shipped. We got by on that for a while. Now I want to take ebay to the next level but I dont really know where to begin. Id like to do affiliate type stuff.

I also joined click bank and I would love to promote some things but I have not had any luck there. I tried youtube and facebook with no luck. I know nothing about blogging or squeeze pages or sales funnels. I have read and researched but feel Im running in circles chasing my tail. I have taken many guru classes just to gain some knowledge of the lingo and what they talk about.

I am not afraid of putting in work or even investing a little money to get started. But money is obviously an issue and I dont want to just keep throwing money at things that only have me running in the same circles. We recently met someone on a fluke that said they are an affiliate marketer and made thousands of dollars doing it so I know its real and can be done. We were there just looking to possibly rent their place. She showed us her clickbank account and showed how she used youtube to promote links and that was just one way she made big money.

There was someone on this forum that stated newbies need to take action but they need to be headed in the right direction. Thats all Im looking for with this post. Just point me in the right direction and I will do all the work necessary to get where I need to be.

Thanks
#direction

    Normally, when people say this, here, it's because whatever they're trying to do has in some way fallen short of one (or more) of the "three essentials" of being a ClickBank affiliate. This may help? http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7110523

    (I'm leaving your other questions for people who know more about your situation there than I do!).

    Welcome to the Warrior Forum.

    You've asked a whole lot of broad questions. Here are a couple of answers - others will chime in and give you their opinions.

    Sales rarely happen without promotion over time.

    Just because you offer an ebook on a web site . . . well, there is no guarantee that it will bring you any sales, regardless of how good the book is. No one knows how good it is until after they read it and they can't read it until after they buy it. So you have to promote in order to sell.

    Promotion needs to be smart and effective. You have to target your message to people who are already anxious to buy what you're selling. So if your book is about "how to find and purchase lake front property with no money down" you need to find buyers that are looking for that exact topic. Lots of authors have created ebooks on topics for which there is little or no demand . . . so their book fails. You don't create demand . . . it is already in the marketplace.

    So when you do your research, look for very specific demand and then sell into that demand. You can use the "search" function of this forum and find lots of threads on "market research," "choosing a niche," and similar topics that will get you started.

    Focus all your effort on one thing. Don't jump around selling on ebay, selling ebooks, being a affiliate, etc, etc. Choose one money making plan and stick to it until you are profitable. There will be time to branch out later.

    Also, here's a thread that will give you lots of workable ideas - What to do if you're desperate

    Good luck to you,

    Want me to "guide" you in the right direction?

    Pick a product, build a squeeze page, buy traffic, create follow-up sequence, rise and repeat.

    And when I say "pick a product" not just any clickbank offer will do. This is where I went wrong in the beginning. Forget ClickBank etc. You want something that pays you on the front end, has some sort of monthly residual and that has (multiple) high ticket items on the back end ($1,000+).

    I have to agree with TopTier Profits. Create a compelling squeeze page which gets people to opt-in and then you can promote some products which are strongly related to the interest that your list has.

  • Katjomad,

    Here are a few suggestions:

    Regarding your 40-page ebook in your real estate site =>> If the information provided by your ebook is still up-to-date, and if there is still demand for that information, and if your ebook can still offer value to your targets, then my suggestion is to break down the ebook into three parts. This is to develop a list of prospects, to establish a friendly relationship with those prospects, and to provide them with value time and again that they'd most likely feel happy to pay for. These three parts are the following:

    *** OPT-IN OFFER -- This can be the first 10 pages or so of your 40-page ebook, repurposed in a way that can effectively serve as teaser material. Your objective for this opt-in offer should be to grab the attention of prospects, entice them with the information provided by the teaser material, and compel them to download the teaser material in exchange for their names, emails, mobile numbers and so on;

    *** FOLLOW-UP CONTENT -- This can be the next 10 or so pages of your 40-page ebook, repurposed as follow-up content that can provide value to your subscribers (prospects who willingly exchanged their names, emails, mobile numbers and so on for your opt-in offer), which can supplement your teaser material for the ultimate benefit of your subscribers. Your objective for this follow-up content should be to establish a professional relationship with your subscribers, and to build your reputation as a friendly expert resource of beneficial content, products and services; and

    *** MAIN PRODUCT -- This can be the rest of your 40-page ebook, repurposed to supplement the content of your opt-in offer and follow-up content, and to provide the juiciest, most valuable content of your 40-page ebook, all for the ultimate benefit of your subscribers.

    REMINDER: Since you have a direct line to your subscribers, you can offer relevant free content and paid products (your own products or affiliate products) in the future.

    NOTES: I suggest integrating retargeting / remarketing code into your landing page, opt-in download page and main product sales page, so as to promote your opt-in offer and main products to viewers who already visited your landing page but didn't get your opt-in offer and to subscribers who failed to open your main product email offers, while they're in Facebook and Google. That's it. Now:

    Regarding your questions about selling affiliate products and so on =>> I suggest implementing a similar process above, which involves the following:

    *** Offering something to develop a list of subscribers out of your prospects (Read: Site Viewers);

    *** Providing value for establishing a professional relationship with your subscribers and for building your reputation as a friendly expert resource;

    *** Recommending beneficial affiliate products to supplement the value that you provide your subscribers; and

    *** Integrating retargeting / remarketing code into your sites so as to promote relevant offers to viewers who didn't get your opt-in content and to subscribers who didn't go to your affiliate sales pages, while they're spending time in Facebook and Google. That's it...

    Hope this helps...
