Naturally, really cool internet retailers never have an affiliate program

I keep running across really cool, innovative, creative retailers that don't have any affiliate programs!

What's with these guys!?!? Are they afraid to lose control of their brand? Just not with the program?

I mean, I am really stoked over http://www.utilikilts.com (some of the UK guys will get it)

Awesome company.

Nary an affiliate link in site.

    UTILIKILTS ARE AWESOME.

Local boys, too. I see a number of folks wearing them out on the street here in the Seattle area.

Did I hear anyone scream "Business opportunity!".

Why not sell them the service? Learn a bit more about affiliate solutions, find a price, a guarantee, and make a simple email template you can email websites like that?

Sounds like an easy plan? IT IS!
I even find it pretty weird that very few (If anyone AT ALL) of those "Make 6845kOffline in 5 seconds!" don't even mention this. Oh well. Go try it out

Yeah, I'd drop an "offline gold" nuke on those guys in an instant.

The problem is that I don't think a lot of internet retailers operate on wide enough margins to actually be able to attract affiliates at a reasonable commission rate. They're so into the walmart retailing low price war, that they don't have enough spread to pay guys like us and also be able to make the rent payment.

Well, you could always sell them a membership script through your aff link, and tell them that you won't need a payment before they have successfully attracted at least 10 affiliates or something. Or even better... You charge a percentage = passive income!

But I wouldn't target those kinds of guys. Maybe more "brick'n mortar" style of businesses? Who actually have a budget for this, but have never heard of affiliate marketing. And to make them understand the concept, but could compare it to guides and taxi drivers in tourist countries

Click on Utiliclan then Evangelist. You get 7.5% credit for conversions on referrals. Not sure if it's towards merchandise or if they pay you, but it's something.

Yeah, I saw that. It's to become a mfr's rep indy sales person.

They do give 7.5 % commission of sales... OFFLINE SALES. Not really an "affiliate" program per se.
