Hi,

I started seriously to think about IM and I have couple of questions about using your ID.

1. Is it advisable to use your real name (even though it's complicated to pronounce) or should a pseudonym do as well.

2. Do most internet marketers use their real name?

3. What are the benefits and disadvanges for using your real name or pseudonym?

4. I see that many internet marketers use their face to promote their products (website, video's). What if you're no so confident - can you still succeed? Are there any internet marketers who do not show their face?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm a fan of using your real name but do understand the problem if its difficult to pronounce.Maybe use this as a marketing tool?.

If you don't want to have your picture out there you could get a caricature done and use that.

There are many ways to be successful online, its just about having a plan that you are happy with and sticking to it.

    Yes, many in fact.

I suggest you just use your name and face.

Even though it's not uncommon to use a pseudonym instead of your real name, i definately wouldn't suggest it. There are a lot of marketers who have hard topronounce names so that shouldn't be an issue. Maybe you could use an abbreviation or something.

About using a picture, that shouldn't be too much of an issue. Videos that's a different thing, not everybody can make a good presentation for instance, then it's best to hire somebody to do that for you.

All in all i wouldn't worry about these things too much, the most important aspect if you're just beginning is to take action, worrying about these things won't help you out.

some of the bigger names out there use their actual names.

I suppose it depends how big you want to get if you're going to be releasing products on the regular and how you want to brand yourself. The more personal you get the better.

Many moons ago when I first became interested in IM I was advised NOT to use my real name, so I became Katie Rich. My first name is Catherine, my surname begins with R.

I don't think it matters too much what name you use as long as you are happy with it.

Dude, use your real name. Just be yourself. If you dont want your name on it, dont promote it.
