I think you can use Elance or Craigslist.

Craigslist is the best in my opinion.

i have tried Craigslist with very poor results.

What kind of Sales rep? Are you looking for someone local to work with local businesses or are you just looking for a phone sales rep....they are different animals.

I don't think you'll get "commission only" sales reps without offering them a base pay. I have worked with a couple of local call centers too for selling directory listings, but I had to pay them for contacting prospects along with commissions off sales.

Some salesman will double up. If you can find someone out selling in a similar niche, you might be able to get them on board

Getting commission only sales person is really difficult to find ... they are golden nuggets, since you don't need to pay anything upfront or you're not even committed to pay unless they make any sales for you. But the fact is, you will never find any pro for this condition. I tried this a lot using craigslist and backpage, but nothing worked for me.

Finally, what worked for me is adding a little twist - I bought leads from a reputed lead broker and employed 3 pro sales person with decent commission amount (and with base pay too) - I did not make a huge profit for each individual project, but certainly, I made a lot of sales and thus a good profit on overall sale.

And... the turnover rate is high. I had the chance to look over a Cydcor business, and spend a couple weeks examining it... in that time there was over 50% turnover (or something near that).... They have the most success of any company I know that is in the business of using straight commission salesmen in their offices (they actually turn their 0.01% stick rate into new offices)...

Here's how they recruited salesman (This office owner was selling close to 100 products per week)...

      1. Run Craigslist, Monster, etc ads for "wanting to hire people" for an open position with WEEKLY PAY... (They actually paid you for sales 2 weeks prior like most commission positions but anyway). Usually the ads were for people who were the "life of the party", and for "Customer Support Representatives"/"Brand Ambassadors".

      2. They would run first round interviews every morning, 15-20 people per round... They received about 25 applications - 35 every single day. Just from their online ads (And it wasn't a "big recruiter" or anything recruiting... City of about a mil)

      3. In the first round interviews they would say "If we like you we'll bring you back for a second round with a trainer", and they'd throw you out with a sales representative of their choice... Who would show you the ropes for a day (UNPAID), and if you dug it... You stayed, if not you rolled...

(This is great for B2B sales, cause some guys would give up on the first day)..

      4. Then they would use their other sales reps who were top performers, and give them some sort of incentive (in this situation it was a pyramid scheme sorta) to train these guys for a week or two.. to roll on their own.

      ....

Of the 20% or so of the hired guys each month that stayed on, most of them were pretty good salesman, selling about 3-10 tv, internet, homephone combos every single week...

      ...

Honest to goodness, this is probably the most brilliant (Albeit not completely upfront) way I've seen to grabbing salesman anywhere.... Especially when you don't pay the highest of commissions...

BTW, in sales, if you want to have multiple guys, it's best to create a fun party atmosphere where everyone loves each other, because it will keep them staying even when they have a bad week.

      Just some thoughts

A good way to hire quality commission only sales people/telemarketers on freelance bidding site is selling them on getting a 5/5 review.

This works most effectively for new freelancers with little to no reviews.

By saying something like "Hiring Experienced Commission Only Telemarketers - Guaranteed 5/5 Feedback on First Sale" in the title, and then explaining something like "This opportunity is great if you are new to this site and are an experienced telemarketer. If you help make one sell I will guarantee a 5/5 review which can help you with getting awarded for future projects." Something along those lines.

This works great because it can be quite challenging for them to get awarded projects, even if they have a lot of experience, if they have zero feedback.

Hundreds of calls per week, with generic ads. Sometimes hundreds of calls
per day with more specific ads.
