Migrating Wordpress to a new Host

Hello all. I want to migrate my wordpress blog to a new host soon, but the problem is that i already have high PR links to the current url, so i want to keep that the same. I was hoping that there is a plugin that i can use to backup the database, then install wordpress on the new host, reinstall the plugin, and then restore the database with everything intact - but this doesn't seem to be the case. Right now I have a plugin called WP Migrate DB, but it seems that it only works if the url's are different....Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks in advance.

I have used this plugin frequently it works nicely, (just be sure to not change the name of the backup file) download it to your local computer, (before you get ready to move) then install wordpress, install the plugin and restore the backup and your back to where you started. https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-clone-by-wp-academy/

If you have cPanel hosting and are moving to a new cPanel host it's really very simple. Just watch this free video

How to Move Your Website to a New Web Host: The...

. It's not my video but this guy does a pretty good job to showing and explaining.

Using cPanel backup and restore you won't miss anything and it doesn't take much time either.

Using the other utilities mentioned can be difficult and time consuming and more complicated IMO.

It is not that hard.
First back up your database from cpanel
second , back up your wordpress file.
third, Create new database in your new hosting.
Fourth, Upload your wordpress,
Edit wp-setting.php if you need to change database user and name

@buffnstuff Don't forget to mention that Cpanel is a configurable environment and the environments must be closely matched or it will not work, in fact there are forums dedicated to problems that occur when using cpanel to copy and transfer a website, When it works it works good when it fails it fails badly.

Just have more than one method of transfer incase you run into a problem you have a backup plan.

  Any new host will do a transfer from your old one. They essentially transfer the database right over and everything remains the same. Even the cheapest host will do this or at worst, charge you $10. Well worth it in my opinion.
