All seven of them are geotargeted extensions, clearly.

I think they're all probably equally good, for attracting Indian traffic specifically, to sites hosted on servers inside India, whose owner wants to rank better on searches made from google.in (at the expense of his overall rankings elsewhere).

For any other purposes, I think they're probably all equally bad, and limited.

"pdoma.in" would be a nice domain-name for you, perhaps, to match your "userna.me" here?!

Can you please tell, if I purchase hosting from HostGator.in then can I ensure that I'm using a server from India?

I didn't know that HostGator had ever offered servers in India (they might: I haven't looked for a long time at what they offer, because they've now been bought out by the dreaded Endurance International Group, and it's definitely not somewhere I'd want to buy hosting. I do actually still have some hosting there, and - like many other EIG customers - I'm planning to leave as soon as my year's contract is nearly up. I strongly recommend a re-think.)

What type of site do you intend to build?

If it's a site for Indians only, then .IN is the best.

Yes, it is for Indian traffics....

But .co.in, and .in are already taken...

I want to create a review site based on a product name from Amazon.in

      Good luck.

Be very careful that you don't use anyone's trademark in your domain-name, and that you're compliant with Amazon's terms of service (read them carefully!), otherwise you can lose your website, and/or your Amazon affiliateship, and/or have legal problems.

I would say for local traffic .IN is the best.

Yes, .in is the best, but it confuses me when I see Google.co.in, why it is not Google.in?

Also, I have said earlier, that .co.in and .in are taken, so which extension should I use in this case?
