Nowadays, How Would You Rate the Squeeze Page?

Hello Warriors,

This question is about the SQUEEZE page which, as most of you old hats would know, was all the rage several years ago. This format seems to have evolved into the video presentation (somewhat annoying, although the good ones do keep you glued). So tell me, how would you rate the old traditional (if I can call it that) squeeze page of yesteryear TODAY. Do you think it still works wonders? Could you please share your views and experiences?

Thanks,

Anthony

The squeeze page hasn't changed at all. It was and is still among the most important components of online marketing. The squeeze page's purpose is to evoke interest and get a visitor to take a particular action, such as signing up for future info. What has changed it the mode of delivering a particular message.

Videos can be annoying and they can be compelling just as textual pitches can be the same. Everything depends on the marketer. For someone to think they're going to make more money simply by using video because video is popular these days is missing the point. Well done video is certainly working just as compelling textual messages are working. Again, nothing has changed other than the method of delivery.

I think nowadays because it is much more easier for people to make videos, it is what everyone is doing.
The problem is they do not know how to create good compelling videos.

A good video can drive a lot of conversions where as a sloppy one can kill your business.

I can share my experiences. I did so here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7939758

(I don't use squeeze pages any more. That doesn't make it wrong for anyone else to use them, in their businesses - but that was the right answer for me, after all the split-testing I did. I think their efficacy depends mostly on people's traffic demographics, and maybe on the niche, as well.)

I don't doubt it, with some traffic demographics and in some niches. My own experience, however, is uniformly the opposite. Video sales pages don't convert my traffic (and that's true across many different niches) and I almost refuse to send any of my traffic to video sales pages, now. My subscribers and customers regularly tell me (without even being asked) that they find video pages particularly inconvenient, and that they're just not interested in them at all. This thread's instructive: Am I the only person who hates video content?

      Not necessarily.

It depends how and where the squeeze page is used.

The problem is most people do squeeze pages wrong. They give nothing, only a promise and then expect people to give up their email address in order for you to fulfill that promise.

But if you offer up free valuable content first and then ask people to optin to get more of that free valuable content, you are gong to have a very responsive list.

Squeeze pages haven' changed that much though, all the changes that were made serve only 1 purpose: to get more people to take action and subscribe to your list.

The real thing to focus on is your funnel, that will make the difference in your bank account.

A good video is more effective than texts! Videos is becoming an important tool for Internet Marketers. People will quickly connect with you when they see you LIVE and can hear your voice.

That might be true now because video is popular now, but if everybody starts doing it it will simply become annoying and conversions will decrease again.

And then something new to increase conversions will come again and it's an endless cycle...

Just ask yourself, if you're still on somebody's list after several weeks, is it because he had such an amazing squeeze page? I doubt it...Only the content the marketer sends that helps you out makes you not hit the unsubscribe button...

There's really a million variables and it comes down to your unique business plan.

I love squeeze pages and am constantly split testing different styles...

(Often times, it's better to skip the squeeze page outright and just promote a sales page).

Again... It really depends on who you are, what your intentions are, who your end user demographic is, and how you're reaching them.

As far as video/text? It's like asking "What's better... A book or a movie". - Remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    Just my humble $.02.

    (Warning: Variables incalculable).

I prefer the optin with just the EMAIL, but depends on the niche.

I think most people are fogetting the fundamentals these days, list building has worked in creating multimillion dollar companies since the 1800's however people keep searching for the next 1 trick WSO pony or next shiny new PUSH BUTTON MAKE MONEY type of product.

They do not exist. Building businesses based on list building, and high quality copy will make you lots of money.

Squeeze page will always be a nice way to get subscribers. Think about giving away free candies in exchange of someone's name, phone number and address.

The format might change from time to time. But as they say in fashion, ideas come and go and again come back. That's the deal, my friend.

people have too many options and too little time. I've noticed that headlines and bullit points are back, and video is out. People seem to have no time to watch an entire video anymore unless it draws their attention in an extreme way.

I've noticed that headlines and bullit points are back,
    Had they gone somewhere?

I've been advertising via the "two-step" method (a squeeze page is an ad) since before the Internet existed.

Here's the tried and true formula:

    1 - Headline
    2 - Sub-head
    3 - Bullets of benefits
    4 - Strong CTA

It's been that way long before I got in the game and I doubt it will ever change.

BTW - Video will make me bounce hard.

  • Definitely I think the video squeeze page pulls better than the traditional squeeze page, especially if the sales pitch is strong. All in all. they both deliver great conversions.

I made a purchase at an auto parts store recently and the checkout
clerk asked for my zipcode, phone #, then my last name and then my first name.

I smiled to myself and wanted to ask her if she knew WHY she asked
for my information in that order. But I didn't.

My guess is that she was trained to do so without given a reason, but
I know the reason is that people are more likely to give the least specific
information before the specific ones about themselves. I have a client who
splits up his squeeze page in a similar way and have seen a giant leap in
    signup rates.

They get the subscribers / buyers where they need to be...

So yeah, they still work wonders.
