I just set up a Amazon affiliate site in a high end niche. I have some questions and they are as follows:

1. How do I check stats of my site?
2.how do I get an email list for my niche?

1 connect your website with google analytics, its free

    2. sign up with any email autoresponder service and put the optin form on your website for your secret 10 tips on whatever you think your market needs.

    1. Install statcounter or google analytics on your site for checking traffic stats.
    2. You need to signup with autoresponder services like aweber and put the opt in form on your website to collect emails.

Google analytics for tracking, and somewhere on your site after you have purchased an autoresponder, such as Get Response, my personal fave, or aweber. Create a webform through your autoresponder, and have the form somewhere on your site. Possibly say something like, get the best daily deals by putting your email below.

If you need help with any of the above mentioned, Get Response has loads of helpful vids and Google and You Tube are your friends. Also search this very forum for your questions. I am sure there is a wealth of info just beneath the surface.

As a newbie with ZERO sales, I would pass on the monthly payments for an autoresponder and just use Gmail Groups until you see if it's even going to work, which could do the job for several months. I have run several lists like this of up to 500 subscribers with no problems.

I didn't know that about Gmail Groups. Just wondering though... once someone is ready for moving to a "real" autoresponder, it'll be a pain to get those subscribers incorporated into the autoresponder service.

Considering that most services give you a free or almost free month, you could sign up with a "real" one right when you get serious with getting started...

          Absolutely right.

A proper, professional autoresponder service is one of the very few things, in affiliate marketing, which you really should try to get right, right from the day you start. "A bit later" is too late, because you'll never be able to import your early leads where you need them. The "opportunity-cost" is higher than people realise at the outset.

GetResponse is quite an attractive proposition: first month free and then $15 per month. That effectively gives people 2 months to cover the first $15 cost (it isn't a business at all, if it can't do that?).

It doesn't matter, James. That idea is a very bad one, for listbuilding, for all the reasons explained in posts #8, #11 and #12 above (not to mention in this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post9250598 ). No criticism of you implied, at all, but you need to think and research carefully before following suggestions just because "they were offered in a thread in the Warrior Forum". Many such suggestions can damage your business, rather than helping it.

    1. You should install Google analytics on your site. It's free, and there are plenty of videos on YT that show you how to do that.

    2. If you want to start building a list, you need to get an e-mail auto responder like Aweber. I think they still have the trial going on, where you can get the first month for $1. All you do is sign up and install the code on your site. With that said, I wouldn't worry about doing this until my site started getting some traffic.

    Good luck,
    Joey

Even if this project fails I am hoping the OP won't just give up.

You will need a "proper" (Thanks Alexa (: ) autoresponder no matter what you end up succeeding with online.

Just the experience of experimenting with it will be worth the small fee. The tutorials are video and have gotten really good. There is a wealth of email marketing info. on AR sites and they are more then willing to give you a hand should you need it.

      hey noob,
Start building a following on social networks like Facebook, twitter, Pinterest etc.
It is the best "free" advertising. You also can stick within any niche you wish.
